I bought a PS5 digital version last year. Sometimes I see physical games that are cheaper than the digital version, but those are games I'm not seriously interested in and would end up on a backlog. So I actually saved money by having the digital version. In the case of God of War Ragnarok, I see so many download code deals on SD ($45-55), but none for the physical disk (PS5 version only).

What if you bought the game digitally on PS4? I purchased the Final Fantasy 7 remake and several other games digitally on PS4. Will I have to repurchase them if I want to play on Digital PS5?

Not really ps plus gives you all the best content from the shitty ps4 library and games like ghostofs and bloodbourne are 5 dollars digital. Ps5 = gpu upgraded ps4 nothing new tbh.

because both are regular price really. the disc version is listed for $650 but "marked down" to $499 just like the digital version is marked down to $399 from $590.

As one of the most likely to fail components on a console I've thought a detachable disk drive should have been an option since the Sega Saturn or so. The closest thing we got to it before now was the HD-DVD drive for the XBox 360.
