I have one of these which is IPL and a Tria laser which is diode. Both were bought open box on eBay. The Tria is more effective, but I greatly prefer this one and rarely use the Tria. I love that you can hold down the button and glide with the Braun (although it's much slower than the advertisement video would lead you to believe). I like that it's plugged in as opposed to charging like the Tria because you can use it when you need to without having to babysit the battery level. The Tria's more painful, but again, more effective.

I'm bad about keeping up routines which likely affected the outcome, but the hair has clearly thinned out and takes longer to grow back. While I am sure professional hair removal is more effective, it's also more expensive and requires time to visit the salon. It didn't make me hairless, but I am very satisfied with the results.

Word of advice mainly for women. Changes in hormones can re-stimulate hair growth so keep that in mind. Also, the Braun is very bright. It's like a photo booth. I suggest either closing your eyes or wearing light protection glasses.

Would this work on a man's facial hair? I'm getting tired of shaving every day so was wondering if this would help reduce shaving frequency. Light brown skin and black hair.
Don't make that mistake. You never know when the beard/mustache will be desirable by someone you love and you are trying to grow and it comes like when we get our facial hair first time. I'm tired of shaving so I just let it grow for 2-3 weeks and then trim it to 1/2. Then let it grow again...

If you want permanent hair removal, electrolysis is the only thing that works. It works on all types and colors of skin and hair.

My wife bought this ~6 months ago and it was very painful for her to use anywhere close to her lady parts. It hurt/burned her skin so she contacted the company a few months later and they immediately gave her a full refund. I would highly recommend buying straight from them if there is any concern that this product might not work for you, the refund was easy and they did not ask her to return the product so it joined the box graveyard in our walk in closet. Feels crazy to throw something away that was so expensive but I guess they cannot resell it.

Just as an aside, they DO say it does not work as well for people with dark skin. She is Japanese so not white, but still fairly light skinned.

But the return policy for brain says they only accept returns 30 days from the invoice for items that are not used and also they do not return the shipping fees.

I'm surprised no one asked if this works for men down below but that's really risking your credibility on here.

I'm Indian and the one from Costco burned my skin. It has an auto safety if your skin is too dark that it should not go off. It went off in areas but left some darker burnt trail marks. It did work but other places I did leave marks that slightly darker even 4 yrs later. With any brand, do your research.

Braun website says 100 day return policy for all items except shavers, which are 60 days. Where are you seeing 30 days?

Also, it's free shipping. No refund on $0.00 is acceptable.

Edit: 30 day return policy. What I saw was a 100-day satisfaction guarantee. You can get your $ back, but in the form of a prepaid credit card that requires you fill out a form to receive.

You could make the same case that you never know when the clean shaven look will be desirable by someone you love.

I read that the Philips Lumea IPL hair remover is better but more expensive than Braun. However, the only legit stores that sell them is in Europe. I wonder why the big retail stores don't sell it in the US.
