I'd like this phone but I don't want to use metro by T-Mobile.
I currently use regular TMobile and need to know if I buy the metro by T-Mobile phone, if I can just put my TMobile sim card in it and use it.

if not, how can I use the A53 metro phone with my regular TMobile prepaid account?

What you can do is buy this off Metro with the $40 plan. Wait 180 days from the day of activation and you should be able to use it with T-Mobile after it's unlocked. You only need to pay for the initial month. It's a long time but it's the cheapest you're going to get it.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just wait for the price drop as the A54 release should be imminent followed by blowout sales of the A53.

I was just hoping that I'd just need to put my tmobile sim in the metro phone as tmobile owns it.
