TMo executive board meeting:
"So, there's this Mint Mobile company that's using our network but charging a lot less. What should we do?"
"I dunno, copy their intro promo?"
"I dunno, buy them out with our $$$?"
"How about both?"
"Nice job, Johnson. Time to hit the bar, everybody."

No CC required. I think no address required either...it's very easy sign-up!
New user is new IMEI (device not used on the T-Mobile network).

Has anyone tried using this offer on top a Google Fi service (to avoid paying Fi data charge)?

I initially had the same message. Just take an old SIM or a SIM out of another phone and temporarily put it in your XR. Open the T-Mobile app on your phone and it should no longer look like your XR is out of country.

I do not want to port as if my port in to T-mobile, then I will be on their payment plan and not this free 3 month try-out plan, correct ?

What I want to do is, just before my US mobile free plan is about to expire, move over to the T-mobile plan and then cancel out my US mobile plan. Can that be done ? How do I cancel my current US mobile plan. Porting out automatically cancels the plan, but, when Im moving to the T-mobile free plan, I am technically not porting out.
Can someone provide guidance on my question above please ?

I'm not saying it cant be done, but this line is not designed for port in or port out. Though I know port out is possible if you create an online account with the temp number, I got a really good temp number ending in 5100 , thought about trying to keep it but I wont bother. I dont think port in is possible.

If not porting out , you have to call US Mobile to cancel.

I do not want a new number. If that's the case, don't think I can get on to this 3 month free try out deal.

I've started in this. They gave a new number. Does anyone know if there's a way to keep a number from previous providers?

What you get through this is basically a temporary number, which you can keep after the 3 months by subscribing to Tmobile. I've used something similar with Mint Mobile's trials - you might be able to port in a number but you won't be able to port out (because this is a free service) if you decide to not continue after 3 months. More likely than not, they won't do it because it's too much effort for a 3-month noncommitting customer and not worth the effort.

IF you wish to keep your current phone number from US Mobile without losing it, google/look-up "phone number parking services" - they're as low as $2/month + a small fee to hold onto your phone number. I personally use NumberBarn So what you want to do is sign up for Tmobile's 3 month trial, THEN port out your US Mobile plan to a phone number parking service - this will immediately cancel your US mobile plan. The only downside is that you'll be stuck with a random number for 3 months but you really can't complain much about getting 3 months for free.

Will it work in Canada?
I left tmobile the middle of last year for verizon so this may not be most updated but last I recall,
You get unlimited calls/text in Canada but only 5GB of data on the Magenta plan, which isn't a lot. Based on other previous comments, you also need a US-based sim card to activate this deal, so that might be a bit of a challenge for you. If you can get it to work though this might be handy for an emergency day or two of data, probably. I'm assuming the 3 months trial is based on the Magenta plans.

I am on tracfone. When I installed the app and check eligibility, it says "your phone is not connected to a carrier. Sorry, your phone needs an existing wireless provider to participate in network pass"

What should I do?

Try inserting a SIM card then try.

Got it. IPhone 12 Pro Max. Works, but slow. Got 4.71 Mbps down, 0.85 Mbps up.
Says 2 bars 5g on band 71nr.
Visible/Verizon with 2 bars 5G band 13nsa gives me 60.8 Mbps down and 2.72 Mbps up.

Also the app says I have 87 days left...
