Just remember if you don't want to redeem (or just bank it), buy an item and then cancel it. They'll refund the points without an expiration date.

Super weird, my email header says I have a $5 reward but the actual email shows nothing and there's nothing in my rewards section either.

Scratch that, read someone else's comment, check for the banner in the middle of the email and activate.

BestBuy sends a lot of email. I kept deleting these by mistake, so I created a gmail filter that checks for from:bestbuy.com "bonus certificate terms" and marks it important, starred, and has a special label.

My guess is he has a $5 certificate from purchases not from this promotion, you have to activate this from the email, they don't just give it to you.

I even checked My BB account online before clicking the link. Award wasn't there until I accepted it, refreshed that page and there it was.
