Please help us keep our deal community clean

Many posts in this deal thread have been removed for arguing and derailing the intended collaborative nature of our deal threads.

There are many situations in which a retailer will provide its customers with an itemized receipt showing the prorated value of each item, should the customer choose to return part of a bundled set of items. If that were not allowed according to a merchant's internal policy, it is up to each merchant to implement safeguards or restrictions that would prevent that sort of abuse (if it were viewed by them as such). If it is allowed, however, we'd ask that our deal threads not be used as a venue to personally attack or target members for exercising their personal choice which may be contrary to our own.

In other words, if you are against using a "hack" like the one mentioned in this thread, we'd implore you not to use it. We'd ask that everyone in this community respect each other and not leave contentious comments.

Thank you! Peace
Shaeet

Insane deal! This new 375 ft-lb model is actually very good as tested by Torque Test Channel on YT. It beat out the comparable Ridgid models.

Do we pull the trigger or wait for a deal on one of the new hp impact wrenches? No foreseeable use beyond truck lugs, seized headboots, maybe some lag screws. I've found the earlier model ryobi battery impact wrench to be not quite up for the more challenging ones. Will this get me there? Or wait?
I have the HP brushless 600ftlb model. Having used it on a lot of lug nuts I don't think I'd want a weaker one.

Not needed, but a good deal for a basic tool/battery. Repped.

Side note for those maybe wondering what to do with another charger...I like to repurpose the batt and charger with these deals by wiring them in parallel with a ryobi inverter, thereby increasing the ah for various projects where I need a lot of capacity. I can always wire it back to original if needed. Easily remove/replace the batt for re-charging. Charger acts like a batt adapter you might get off ebay.
If I understand you correctly, you're making it so the inverter can accept multiple batteries in parallel. Don't you run the risk of connecting two batteries of different charge levels (different voltages) together, which would cause the more charged battery to discharge into the less charged battery? Or do the batteries have integrated polarity protection (like a diode or similar)?

Been really wanting the inflator which seems good at $41.

I love the idea of the impact wrench for tires but that is such a seldom use for me. Or things like an anode rod change. What are you all using the impact wrench for?

The ratchet is appealing too but other than using the 3/8 for putting the bike rack on the tow hitch, I mainly use a 1/4 ratchet for smaller jobs.

I'm curious to know the answer to this, myself.

Also, I'd like to repeat another's question: can this be purchased in-store? I wonder because perhaps there's a chance I can use my military discount to further drive the price down.

Ordered and got the 3/8 ratchet as the gift. Almost bought these on DTO a week or so ago when they were $40 each, but with shipping, and it was the older 1/2 Wrench. Seems like a good deal.

As far s the hack, if HD allows it, I'm good with it. I've never done that, always had the option to get a tool I don't have and don't have to hassle with returns, etc. I suppose I would do it if I needed to. But for $50/tool, this is still a good deal to keep.

Here's how the hack used to work when it did. Nor sure if it still does.

Works just fine, just did it last week for he same wrench.

Asked Customer Service worker when I returned the ratchet about whether it was ok to return just one item from the order, they told me it was ok, and that bundles HD does not want you to split would be listed as a single-line item. I know this wouldn't help 'hack is a fraud' crew, but sharing the info I got from HD frontline worker.

I would bet this would do 90 percent of your needs.

This model is one of the better deals from BF. Using your military discount would really make this deal sweet.

I added a multi tool, needed both of these and for $100, that's a deal.
