I concur with them. Have it and it's way too narrow. Top heavy and unwieldy with where you have to mount the saw to use the support arms. L Small hard plastic wheels are also terrible on terrain

I'm a die hard makita fanboy. I love them. This stand is trash though. The rigid or Dewalt stands are far superior. In their support balance and portability.

I have this stand also . Absolutely terrible. Flimsy extendable arms sag. Not even worth $50 in my book. I ended up getting a Hercules stand from Harbor Freight. It is a bit heavier but its also much sturdier and works well with my Makita 1016l.

As everyone has already stated this is not the stand you want. I have the cordless XSL06 miter saw that weighs some 60lbs and this stand cannot support it well. Ended up going with the Bosch gravity rise [homedepot.com] which I see now is double what I paid and takes up a big chunk of floor space. Prior to that had the Ridgid folding stand [homedepot.com] which is also quite good.

Having spent a fair bit of time in the construction distribution here are my recommendations based on customer feedback:

DeWalt Folding [amazon.com] - who wants to mix teal and yellow, though?
Bosch T1B [acmetools.com] - ~$150 and far better than this Makita
Bora [homedepot.com] - If you need something cheap and stable
