Bought the DCL050 for 39.99 from a slickdeal in 2021. It is the most used light I have out of several Dewalt lights and also other handheld high lumen rechargeable lights. Had I never gotten it for 39.99 and picked it up for this price it still would have been worth it.
Yeah I saw that light, but that looked more like a beacon of light! I'm just looking for close-quarters use-cases when I need to turn circuit breakers off

This is true, wife got it for me for Father's Day on that deal. Use it all the time, great light and still worth it at this price.
I'm not sure if it this is a good deal for what is essentially a flashlight. But I'm in the DeWALT system already, and I have DeWALT batteries available. I've got a pair of DCL050 and love them. I've used the hanging hook when working in the attic. And the adjustable angle works great for illuminating my griddle.
IMO, the DCL050 is great for doing random things around the house. I've already got random handheld flashlights for tasks where I want to hold the light. The DCL050 fits lots of random miscellaneous roles.

DCL050 is a super useful task light for sure. Until I got the M12 rover it was my go to light every time. The M12 is similarly bright and more compact so I tend to grab it more for small tasks now. I think I got it on the same deal a couple others posted about, it was a steal at that price, still a good value at 61 imho. I'd like to have the 77 but I recently got the 074 from a pallet liquidator for 100 bucks and I have a M12 rocket and rover so other than portability or slightly higher output depending on which I compare it to it's probably kind of redundant, and I think I need to cool my LED tool light budget for a while, need to sell off a couple older lights I don't use.
I don't know if we'll ever go back to the good old days pricing, but I bought a DCL050 off Amazon for $39 two years ago. I love it, use it all the time on cars instead of dragging a cord around. Two brightness settings.

Agreed. I impulse bought the Craftsman version (CMCL050) when it was posted here about a year or so ago. I love that light and wish I'd bought another.
For wrenching under a car hood, crawling in an attic or as a room light during a power outage, it's been great and durable.
(edit- I just noticed the $61 price tag . I only paid $17 for my Craftsman. $60 is a stretch...IMO)

I too paid about $40 about two years ago. Amazing light that I use constantly. I just installed a new garbage disposal & it lit up everything under the sink. Use it in attic & every task where I need additional light. Fantastic item for sure. I even bought one for my so who loves it as well.
I own both. DCL043 light distribution is too uneven. My preference is the DCL050.
Agreed,
I have the DCL043. I would describe it as too much of a 'big Dewalt battery flashlight' ; not very versatile. No magnet and limited adjustment. I end up finding a reflective surface to bounce the light off of.
I know the 50 doesn't have a magnet, but more adjustable and a better hanging hook makes it more useful.

Funny, I checked my Amazon history and I bought it for $39 also in 2021. It's definitely a great light for that price. Even at this price I agree it's OK. I'm considering the other one in the deal (2000 lumens). It would be for other things where i want a brighter spotlight style. But believe me you don't want 2000 lumens if you are working under a sink or a car dashboard. That's what ones like the DCL050 are great for. And the color rendition is really good (compared to some other LED lights). So you can actually see wire colors and stuff like that, not an erie blue glow like the cheaper lights.
Frankly, in our day and age, this price for a flashlight that doesn't even include a battery is rather too much. I know it is a good brand, but still. Just think of it, what are you paying for? Just some molded plastic and some LEDs. It should be like $20 or below for a top brand. Seriously, DeWalt has put like $5 into making the tool. Are you sure you want to give them $60 and call it a deal?
