Usually the best discount on Series X units are obtained by using discounted Xbox Gift Cards and buying it directly from Microsoft. The gift cards can be obtained for 20% off when on sale (through Costco, Dollar General, etc.). Costco normally has 10% off and Dollar General just recently had 15% off. Just have to keep an eye out for these discounts.

Assuming you get them at 20% off, that would be $400 for Series X instead of the $500 MSRP.

Go to Bing.com and sign in with your Microsoft account. There will be a button in the upper right portion of the screen, near your name, which might be shaped like a medal 🏅.

Click that button and enroll in Microsoft Rewards, if you haven't already. You can redeem points for Microsoft eGiftcards at a rate of $10 for 9,300 points, $100 for 91,000 points, etc.

With minimal commitment, you can easily earn $10/month with more dedicated users earning $20+/month. No Xbox required, just in-browser activities to earn points.

If you already have a bunch of points stockpiled (241,000~ish), you can redeem enough gift cards to cover the price of the Xbox entirely, leaving you with $0 out of pocket cost.

You're confusing it with the Xbox One S. This is the Series S, which is the latest generation along with Series X. Series S was released in Nov. 2020 for retail of $299. This is a great deal, especially if you have Microsoft Rewards points.

Has been this price since before Christmas as holiday sale across various retailers, not that a great deal unless you have to spend the reward points.
I though about using my bing search reward to buy it, but decided not since I barely have time to touch my PS5.

Yep, I know. Still a great deal/value for post-holiday sales.

It was instock from Microsoft for almost a complete month straight. The plain X just went out of stock a few days ago.

Normally, I'd be all over this BUT I don't want to re-buy all my physical games.
