I have a vTOU rate scheme also and I survive. The simpler the better--less to break, almost all vehicles can control charging. I have a dual charger and both vehicles manage it just fine, along with a single.
You are also talking about a hardwired application, and if you have a NEMA plug then a hardwired device is not in the cards. It also requires a 60A breaker and the associated cabling. This is not in your average household.
BTW what most people need is a basic EVSE. My father's Bolt can't even charge that fast, so a 32A EVSE is all that is needed. Yes it depends upon the vehicle so YMMV.
Also be careful this is NEMA 6-50 (the one without the neutral), so be sure you know this isn't going to plug into an existing dryer outlet.

To each his own. I just don't see the value in this Amazon 'deal'.
It's also recommend to use a high quality receptacle if for any EVSE that will not be hardwired. EV forums are full of pictures that show melted and burnt power receptacles. Just plugging one into an existing 'dryer' outlet may be a costly mistake.
Super Cruise has been reviewed by many auto journalists to be superior to Tesla's autopilot. It is limited to mapped roads only but that database is growing rapidly and now covers most major highways and parkways.
