Wearing mine right now, this is a good price. If you compare to a cellular Apple Watch and/or SS then the price seems more reasonable.

And I thought paying $300-400 for a watch was crazy. Here's $700. Glad I don't wear watches. 😂 that's a lot of money for telling the time and fitness tracking.

I used to think that. But then I bought one.
What is really so good about it? My biggest issue is tech moves fast.

If I get this, would I be able to exchange the band for a different color at the Apple Store? 😅

Serious question guys,

is this a viable upgrade from my AW6 44mm titanium stainless steel? Bought it for $400 back in March 2021.

I like mine just wish it could last longer than 1 day but for $700? Idk…

Why buy a Benz when a Corolla can get you to work ?

Is it really a lot of money? My weekly trip to Costco is over $200, easy. Going out to eat a meal with the family is $100. A bag of chips is $8.
Yes. $700 is a lot of money to many people, myself included. I paid $700 for my Mac book air, which does a lot more for me than a watch would.

I'm not rich, some of you may be. I'm just saying this doesn't seem like good value to me. I paid $700 for a tv or a computer that see a lot more use/are more useful than this device seems for that kind of money. To each their own though. Get down with your bad self.

I just did a deep dive on the specs. It appears the 49mm screen doesn't actually have a much bigger screen than aw8? I see 1143 sq mm (aw8) vs. 1185 sq mm (ultra) .. am I reading this right? That's something like 3% larger.

Don't know if its a joke but wouldn't doubt it. These iterations of apple watches

Aw6
AW7
AW8
Apple Ultra

All share same cpu chip. Which is kinda bonkers and features aside (be it battery life, diving ultra finally getting multi band gps) leaves a-lot to be desired

So would not be surprised they added a premium premium version next release.
I'm also hoping for a CPU upgrade soon, but I think it will come to all non-SE models at the same time. Unlike the dual-band GPS, it's not a major power draw (likely even the contrary, since the current is 7 nm and the Watch's tasks are good for race-to-sleep) and the non-Ultra lines could use a sales goosing.
