This service is very oversold in many markets. I am on it currently, and it went completely to pot after the $25 promo in December. If I had any other option, I would jump at it, this service is so unreliable I have to use my phone much of the time. If you are lucky, this could be a great budget option, but most are going to be in internet hell! Rant over...😄

FWIW, I switched to this service in December to take advantage of the $25/mo offer. I've been very impressed by the speed and reliability. Speed Test results are typically around 600 down and about 300 up, but it goes without saying that your results will most definitely vary by location/market, time of day, router placement, etc. I'm fairly sure you have a trial period (and there's no contract anyway), so it's a low or no risk option to try it out.

I have been a TMHI customer for a year and a half, and the last 3 months have been miserable. I am located in Central Florida. For more input from other users you can check out the TMHI subreddit, many are having the same issues I am. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobileisp/#sort=new

The best in our area is dsl at 3mbs. Even if it's oversold, wouldn't this ve better?
yes it should be. What are your phone speeds like on T-Mobile?

it's highly area dependent just like phone data

I signed up during the $25/mo for life promo, so I've had it for a few months now. No complaints really, handles 4K streaming and online gaming. Struggles doing two big things at once, like downloading a game + watching streaming in full 4K is basically impossible. But should be fine for 1-2 people.
setup qos or don't download at full speed. Throttle the speed on all devices so it doesn't get congested

I have TMobile cellular but my phone shows only two bars at my home. I assume that TMobile internet would come from the same tower and be rather weak. Is this correct?
the router should have a stronger radio than your phone. Itll be a better signal, but nothing crazy

What date did you submit the rebate? I'm planning on keeping my service, but I still haven't received my rebate, I submitted my rebate near the end of December.

On a serious note, how reliable is T-mobile internet compared to AT&T fiber internet. Currently, att is about $65 for 500 mbps.
It's normal. But remember that T Mobile is one of the biggest stealers in the market. I have a family plan with T Mobile 5 lines for $120 since 2016. Every bill new drama, game subscription 9.99$. Call them we didn't do it. Their response apologies and will cancel it and credit you back. Next time another subscription that we haven't activated. Call them and cancel ❌. I have to call to cancel all games and no subscription should be activated. T Mobile confirms and then you check the bill is another crazy thing.

The deal thing is also not permanent and they will change it anytime without notification.

Be very careful when trading your phone. The price for your phone will change once delivered to them. Reason the price for your phone was based on if you choose the highest price plan not the basic one.

If you have time and patience, with this price T.Mobile is best

It is very reliable. I have been using this for more than a year now. I had issues for the first couple of days and then it has been a smooth ride so far

Used this service to disconnect Comcast cable internet. I used T-Mobile for 3 months and then called Comcast back, they signed me back up as a new customer and gave me a banging deal for next 3 years. Rinse and repeat every 3 years.

Thank you for this! I missed the $25/mo promo where I wanted to try it out.

I have worked from home regularly for years - I canceled my home internet and just worked from my cell phone's hot spot and it worked even for video conferences until responses to Covid sent many more to work from home. My speed slowed to a crawl as I wasn't the only one using the nearby cell tower during the day anymore. Back to cable internet... I wondered if the same would be true with the T-Mobile home internet, and it sounds like that's the case.
My wife and I both work from home, we are both on calls all day. We have had very unreliable cable internet and were in the middle of a move, so I opted to try the Tmobile 5G at thr 25/mo promo. To my suprise it worked without fault in two locations without fault. Glad we had it as the cable we set up at our new home also failed for 2 weeks.

So, YMMV but it's worth trying. No issues like you indicated with respect to speeds on hotspots.

Depends on your location. I get around 600 down and 120ish up ( day time ) and 850+ down / 150ish up ( nights ) in Dallas ( TX ). Ain't bad at all for $20 ( auto pay discount )

That said, service has been getting unreliable lately ( have had it for around 2 months now ) so once I get that $100 virtual VISA ( promo from December 22 ) I may just cancel..
