Wouldn't touch Sandisk SATA drives with a 10 foot pole. I had a Sandisk Ultra Plus 240gb and it failed (read slowed to a grinding halt) then I got a X110 and it failed again within a year (the same way. it has very little writes on it), so and I gave up returning it the second time as I just can't trust my data on it. I won't trust my data with Sandisk SSDs.
My Sandisk Ssd for OS started having issues lately (fluctuating and often long response times), so replaced with Samsung.

Have had the 480GB variant of this SSD for 4 years now with no issues almost always at full capacity. Haven't had issues with any SanDisk storage devices, fortunately.

I've been running a SanDisk Ultra II 960GB since 2016 and still don't have any issues. This is my main machine and gaming PC.

This only makes sense if you need this 2.5" form factor, otherwise m.2 NVME 2 TB drives go for around this price and even cheaper and are much faster. SanDisk makes good drives so brand shouldn't be a concern.

SanDisk is owned by WD, and they used to run nearly identical hardware for many of their drives. In their 3D TLC models that meant they were running really solid Toshiba BiCS 64 and 96 layer TLC with DRAM. I'd be fine running those.

The "Plus" models have always been lower tier, though, and it's nearly impossible to tell what components they're using in any given model. Supposedly they have also pulled the old bait and switch -swapping decent hardware with garbage without updating the packaging- making matters worse.

SanDisk has been fine for me before, but I don't see a need to pay this much for that many unknowns. If this fit my needs for any particular project, I think I'd just get a Teamgroup drive for $90ish. If I wanted boot drive, I'd get an MX500 for the same price next time it goes on sale.

Expensive the Teamgroup 2TB is $89. Why pay more especially when there is a massive oversupply of DRAM and SSDs right now?

I've been running 2 of them in RAID since 2017. You can get 1GB/s speeds by using software RAID. It's a good alterantive to NVME if you have offsite backups. My boot drive is an NVME, I just use these for games.

Nope, write speed on this drive drops to like 30 MB on large file transfers
