Idk about everyone else's experiences but Kobalt tools has been the crappiest tools I've ever owned. Sure there's a warranty but who keeps all their tools receipts? 😂
You don't need your receipt to Exchange Kobalt tools that are covered under the lifetime warranty.

That's why I like ordering online. Order confirmation is an automatic receipt

Take a picture of all important receipts and save in a specific folder on your phone. Then you can use for warranty claims. In the case of Husky, Kobalt and other brand hand tools, a receipt is not necessary. You may get some push back from the clerk/manager, but if you review the warranty details ahead of time you can be confident that you are within the terms of the agreement. I've had a Lowes manager try and deny my request to swap out my Kobalt hand tools. She made it personal instead of simply honoring the warranty. They swapped them out eventually.
I have the smaller version of this chisel. Adhesive holding the tang failed and handle separated. Used some JB weld 2 part epoxy for a quick fix.

I have the exact same problem with my Kobalt coping saw handle. I tried to glue it numerous times but haven't used jb weld. Thanks for the idea.

I've never had to present a receipt for a warranty on a kobalt item. (I've also rarely needed to do so anyway)
Also, if you paid with card they can pull the purchase history on their own system (found out during a recent return, they didn't even want my receipt)

Power tools, yes. Never had an issue with hand tools like this. A lot of them actually have lifetime warranties. I have the same wrench/socket set my parents bought me 20 years ago. I Aldo have a 16oz kobalt hammer that's about 10 years old that is incredible

My local store will warranty tools without a receipt, but they do it as a return with no receipt. They have to enter your drivers license into the computer, so now they treat you as if you're trying to defraud them and track you.
