Got these with a different charger a few weeks ago also on sale. Surprised me how decent they were compared to many other brands. They successfully handled all the way up to 2.5A. Many struggle at 2.0A.
This charger is different, only 2 bays. The 4-bay one I got seems simple, light, well ventilated and works. They don't have to be fancy. It is feeding 5v via USB to the battery. All charging control is IN the battery.

Any idea if the competition range has started to include how many cycles, to how much remaining percent usage, similar to LFP batteries? Obviously longevity is a root factor in the value equation with batteries.

Naw. Takes too long.
I did see a review that the 1 year self discharge was done. All over the map, but most did not do too well. Xtar was outstanding in both capacity and self discharge, but they are quite expensive.
They can't even get capacity right most of the time. Assuming they 'might' got 1000+ cycles you'd spend almost 3 years cycling them daily to find out.
The reality is that most batteries die at the hands of their (ab)users most of the time. That includes me, and I consider myself knowledgeable and careful.
Preferably lithium should be kept in the 20%-80% charge range. There is absolutely no effective way to even know what charge state these batteries are in except full and empty.

Yeah 'first position' factors like the manufacturing tolerances of the batteries, can be usurped by 'secondary' factors like chargers - and even if the batteries or chargers are eventual knockoffs, usually predicated on how long/far they're marketed.

I used to deal with tv panel knockoffs when larger manufacturers, like Samsung, sold rights to other countries to produce them more locally. The math can get really complex; so you you can imagine when you'd have to deal with at the smaller scale of small batteries, and increasingly inferior lithium-ion tech... AND the manufacturer/end-user variables...

mWh is energy and the more meaningful unit. mAh is incomplete information

Yes; 99% of this market reports in mwh, not mah.

Perhaps coloring by numbers suits you best.

So what's a good use case for these, Xbox controllers or are they better for super low current applications like remote controls? An electric door lock might be a good one (alkalines usually last me about a year).

Blink XT cameras and Blink doorbells require these. They wont run much at all on 1.2V akalines.

What are these percentages? I originally assumed it's the capacity relative to advertised, but stated capacity is 3600mWh and these values are closer to 70% of that, not 90%.

Also, thanks for using mWh, mAh makes it difficult to compare different battery chemistries.
