No it's not. The Samsung 990 Pro is top of the line, followed by the SK.Hynix P41 Platinum. Then it's this.
I meant within the same price category. There will always be better ones out there if you got the $$$. He was asking about the Crucial. The WD SN850x is better and worth the exchange imo

Uh, the P41 IS in the same price. Was $ 170 in BF and frequent sales.

There are pros and cons to both, however, the P41 runs very hot. The SN850x runs a lot cooler. Again, I do really think the WD SN850x is the better buy. Both wont disappoint

Remember this. It's hard to take off a Heatsink from the Heatsink model. This heatsink is stuck on the NVMe. You can take off from it. But it is impossible to avoid the damage for NVMe itself. And you may have interference with your MB. I recommend you buy none heatsink model. A Heasink model is good for PS5 users.

I bought this from Amazon like 3 days before price drop. They wouldn't price match but told me to buy again and return it. I explained that means they would have to pay for shipping, man hours of work so they should price match but still wouldn't do it. So I guess I will be buying and returning.....

That's how they do. I once bought and returned a drone 4 times because the price dropped 4 times, significantly. Bezos too rich to care about $ any more.

Make you think about how s7up1d some company policies are, then they bombard you with save the planet, pledge friendly, reduce CO2, and just look what they do, they prefer to waste resources shipping products instead of making something as simply as price matching and returning you money or at least giving credit on their own store.

It is my first time to buy a m2 drive, it looks like I have to open the cover of the "heatsink" in order to put in this drive on my motherboard. (I am unsure if it is a heatsink), so I dont have to purchase the heatsink version?
Most motherboards have heat covers for m.2 slots and come with thermal contact strips. Double check on the mobo manual.

These aren't mom and pop businesses
I never said they were. But a company does not need to be a mom and pop business to be impacted by a race to the bottom. Companies with other options very well may abandon low margin markets eventually and others may even be forced out due to inability to profit at all.

What you described is a capitalist market, don't understand the problem. As long as companies aren't colluding together to keep prices artificially low or high, at the expense of the competition or the public, then there is nothing wrong with the race to the bottom
