This is 100% not worth it unless you still get the Alienware warranty. That 3 year warranty that covers burn-in for a first generation OLED panel is a pretty big deal. With the sales the DW has been having (10%-15% off coupon in the past couple weeks, the 30% captialone rewards), saving a hundred or two seems like a poor investment - especially if they're returns.

If you can buy a third party warranty from MC for cheap that will cover burn-in, it could be worth it.

I was just sharing a warning that unless your unit comes with Dell's 3 year warranty, saving a hundred or two is a pretty poor trade, especially considering that the units themselves were returned for one reason or another.

It makes more sense to literally wait for a sale from Dell and buy directly. As I mentioned, if you were able to stack the 15% coupon + 30% rewards back from CapitalOne, it would have been cheaper than this "deal" while having a warranty. I would personally take the 15% just for the piece of mind for three years.

Also, this isn't any OLED. This is the first generation QD-OLED. A second generation is already out and is advertised to be 2x as durable. The first gen has barely been out for a year and yet a new panel is 2x as durable?

But hey, it's your money. Go for it, lol

Expired at the moment. I've been watching the price on these monitors since Black Friday - they basically go on and off sale every other week.

Right now, without special access, you can get the DWF for $1000 + 10% cashback via EB (normally cashback is around 2%).

Yup, I would NEVER buy an open box AW3423DW. Just last week I bought mine new from Dell, it had a stuck pixel. So they overnight a replacement. That replacement shit the bed yesterday during a work meeting and started displaying flashing solid colors like red, green and blue while accepting no input from either HDMI or DisplayPort and also would not show the OSD so it simply bricked itself in the middle of a team meeting. Now the 2nd replacement is out for delivery today....

The panels are gorgeous, WHEN THEY WORK but honestly, It seems like im probably going to be making heavy use of the 3 year warranty and im starting to wonder if I screwed up in selling my super reliable AW3420DW.

I cant recommend this monitor to anyone. And I guarantee if you buy an open box unit it will have some kind of problem. Im sure Dell will take the one with the stuck pixel and sell it as a refurb, and someone might be 100% OK with that. But im not ok with a $1300 monitor coming with defects.
