I did this about 8 months ago or so, it was pretty easy ..opened a checking account with $500 ..DD my paycheck for a couple months. When I met my end , they honored theirs. I think it takes 90 days, if I recall correctly ..but they deposit the money np. Did not have to call or anything. I still have the account with about $500 in it (no fees, etc) ..I am still waiting on my TD account to see if they honor theirs.
i'm surprised this bank is still in business. All of their branches in my area have been closed and replaced by Chase or Citi.
Definitely not worth the risk regardless how much bonus they offer
Wells Fargo was the first bank account I opened. They were very good to me and easy. Always reversed overdraft charges and fees for services on request.

Bad press and/or dumbass decisions don't make anyone or any entity with that amount of money invincible. Look at Elon's shrinking net worth, for example. Not to say it'll happen overnight to a company older than our great grandparents, but yeah...
Elons net worth is virtual money. Nothing but market sentiments. $12B in net income is real money.

Wouldn't say virtual since he could theoretically cash out at almost anytime (with whatever restrictions and stuff of course), but at the same time you're semi-right too since that's not money in hand.
I remember how they were pushed to open a savings when one just came in for a checking. And overdraft fees to people who didn't understand why a $5 meal was now $35. Everyone should turn off overdraft protection. Worst feature for any checking account.

That said they are the 3rd or 4th biggest bank the USA & in the top 20 in the world. They are not going out of biz soon.

I'm curious that method still works?

Most banks require a minimum amount be in the account or a direct deposit, without which you are charged a fee
Pls don't ignore this.
