Wells Fargo is pretty bad if you really want to use this account. Anything that involves giving you your money they do at the very least legally possible second. Schedule a payment, for example, and they'll pay it on the last day possible at 11:59PM. Same thing with transferring money between accounts. They also have the worst savings/cd interest rates around. Like 0.5% on a one year CD, unless you get an invite for a deal or something.
Any of the other major banks are much better. Capital One online banking had been awesome and the savings interest is 4%.
if i work as an independent contractor and get paid random amounts per week, would that qualify as DD? the funds are sent directly to a checking account. However, if the amount varies randomly, would that be an issue?
I already hold a wells fargo checking account. Can i close this account and open one after a week? I read that you shouldn't have received any bonus in past 12 months. I never received any yet and have this account for years.

Jonas long as it adds up.to the 1000 in three months or whatever the time frame is. Check the terms on the page with how much you have
I received the code, but the email term said not necessary do the DD, but only $500 minimal daily balance. So we don't have to DD in this case?
You may be looking at how to waive the monthly fee. To get the bonus you have to do the following
Receive a total of $1,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits to the new checking account within 90 calendar days from account opening (the qualification period).
Once the 90-day qualification period has elapsed, we will determine if you have met the offer requirements, and will deposit any earned bonus into your new checking account within 30 days.
What is considered "new checking customer"? Is it never having a checking account or not having one within a certain period?
It appears from others above that it's just not having opened one in the last 12 months which is why people will close as soon as they get the bonus so it restarts the timer and they can do it again asap. Same with chase and others although chase is every two years for the checking account bonus iirc

The difference is Chase has a new stipulation saying you have to keep the account open for six months or the bonus will be deducted when the account is closed. Closing my account soon so I made sure to wait. They know people do these all the time just for the bonus. This deal for some reason doesn't have it. As much as I hate Wells Fargo I can't turn down free money.

When did you open the account and when did you satisfy the $1000 DD?
