Do you have to keep the Direct Deposit balance (of the qualifying $1,000 amount) in the WF Checking account in order to quality, or do they just look at the DD amounts that were put in as long as it adds up to the $1,000 ?

We may not need to keep the DD balance but still need to satisfy the monthly balance to eliminate the monthly fee
"Once the 90-day qualification period has elapsed, we will determine if you have met the offer requirements, and will deposit any earned bonus into your new checking account within 30 days". 90 days + 30 days. Four months from opening to get bonus? Lol WF, go home you're drunk.

Yea I realized that a few days ago as well. 90 days + up to 30 days.
I wonder if PayPal transfer counts as a DD. I know Ebay sales transfer to bank accounts as a direct deposit and I've successfully received account opening credit using Ebay with Fifth-Third bank a year or so ago. With 5/3 bank, once I hit $1k DD, they gave me the $300 bonus that same day the deposit hit the account. Sounds like WF is waiting 90 days to give people their money.

Actually, just called Wells Fargo about this and it seems like the wording was changed? Or maybe it was always the 90 days promotion period wait, and the 30 days after to check if requirements met. But whatever, they seem like an okay secondary bank account to have. I haven't had any issues with hidden fees/charges or account issues.

My Vanguard IRA withdraw/transfer was categorized as "Direct Deposits" (I don't have a job to count salary as direct deposit).
