Gen Mobile is run by Dish, who also run Boost. If you can swing $50, you can pick up a much better phone on Boost, then apply the $30/mo ACP credit to fully cover the $25 unlimited plan.

TruConnect offers a similar plan to Gen Mobile, but 8gb and includes a free device.

If you also happen to qualify for Lifeline, there are even better Lifeline+ACP deals. Safelink with 25gb or Life Wireless 15gb with free phones.

By the way, this is a paid SD ad for an inferior service compared to the others mentioned above by frstplce.

If you qualify for Lifeline you qualify for this.

Assurance and I think tracfone give unlimited data for this program. too. Yes, tracfone does it, use one of their phones.

It might depend on the state you're in. If you qualify for food stamps (if you are in the federal work study program, you do in CA) then you will qualify for Lifeline.

For those of you who worry about your personal information being given to marketing companies I can tell you from working in marketing research that once you are on a government program your
number will be given to market research companies to call you for your opinion about whatever free program you're enrolled in. Once you've done the telephone survey you are then in the data base of the marketing
research company.

Pro Tip: If you qualify use Lifeline program instead.

Save your ACP credit for home internet. Don't waste it on free cell service like this that is already available under other programs

If you are a dependent of your parent it will be based on the household size of the person that you are dependent upon whether or not you are eligible for the program lifeline. You would get the table that is below and how many other people is in your household that would be the threshold that you have to be under on income to be able to apply for it!
If you meet that eligibility and you have Pell Grant, you can even get a free tablet for your education and sometimes even apply and get a Chromebook even!
You can use your lifeline benefit by itself for usually service with assurance Wireless which is under T-Mobile to get a thousand minutes free text and 4.5 GB of data p and they will provide you a phone to use it on even. The ACP will give you $30 toward putting it on your internet service provider which is the better deal!
With having the internet you can always use Wi-Fi calling apps like text now, Facebook Messenger, Google voice and you will have a telephone line through VoIP which will save you money even further after you have used your thousand minutes on assurance Wireless of your lifeline benefit!
This company and even assurance Wireless will promise you unlimited data but I have friends that have used assurance and they have cut them off after the lifeline benefit when they said it was full ACP! Another company a friend used q Link Wireless promised at least 30 to 35 GB of data and the first month that they used it they wouldn't even let them get past a half a gigabyte of data and then cut their internet off! I am witness to many friends and relatives lifeline and ACP benefits combined together under TracFone Airtalk Wireless not giving the benefits they said they were and even charged the government two months in advance that they didn't even have coverage through those two companies!
Again these days if you do not put your ACP benefit by itself towards internet broadband you are doing yourself and Injustice because these other companies are getting by unregulated by the government and there are taking money from the government and not providing the services that they claim to be doing for the customers!

Assurance claims "unlimited data".. while that's unlikely, it's probably still better than gen mobile..

Is that the Celero 5G? Celero 5G+? The latter is truly impressive as a glass phone and not a cheap plastic piece of junk like its competitors.

All of that is completely wrong. Boost will only apply ACP to their *regular prices*, which means the $25 Boost Infinite is categorically excluded as the rate is considered promotional/introductory. Further, Boost as AT&T MVNO (white SIM) or using their own network (rainbow SIM) is incompatible with ACP. Only Boost as T-Mobile MVNO (orange SIM) with its inferior network and coverage is setup for ACP to work with them. Not only that, you cannot get a deal on a new phone as ACP covers only service and Boost won't subsidize a phone if they know you're just here for free service.

Didn't think I'd be getting a follow-up two months later, but sure, I'll bite. First of all, Boost Infinite is completely different than Boost prepaid offerings. Nowhere was I suggesting the postpaid Infinite plan, but rather Boosts own prepaid service.

That advice is backed by Boost's own support FAQ in regards to ACP participation.

Which Boost Mobile plans are eligible for ACP?Qualified households are eligible for a $30 per month subsidy of any qualified Boost Mobile phone, tablet, or mobile hotspot plan or up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Limited to one per qualifying household. (See What is considered a household above or click here for more information.)

In regards to the phone itself, I never said you'd get a discount either. But the majority of Lifeline providers send out absolute TRASH for phones. You can often find deals like the $50 Moto G Play, which while not amazing, is so much better than those free phones.

Your point about discounts as just here for free service is incorrect. Your are a paying customer. It just so happens the the government may be the one paying part or all of the service cost. I'd argue that you're actually a better customer, as the government is actually better at paying its bills than many people are, especially those of lower income who this targets.
