Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 64GB with S Pen is only $199.99 at Fred Meyer in-store!
Picked one up last night and figured it's a good deal to share.

You may also be able to get local delivery, but the options for shipping were greyed out for me.

The model# (SM-P610N) indicates this is 2020 model. Still a good deal though. TU'ed and Repped

I was able to PM BestBuy.

There appears to be a massive void between cheap 7" Android tablets for $40, and ones that cost hundreds more.

I don't want a huge screen, I just want something a bit faster with a more modern flavor of Android than what came on the LG G-pad, but it seems those just don't exist.

Is this the next step up? From $40 to $200?

Just like user ddpp33 stated. The "cheap 7" android tablets for $40 are not even worth using to begin with. There are tablets out there that can be had for under $100 but they will only last about a year or so until they are painfully slow. Or they will have so little memory that you can put hardly any apps onto them. The s6 lite is a good tablet to get and can be found quite frequently on ebay for less than $200. 64gb of memory is the lowest I would go on a tablet these days. Android OS takes up roughly 24gb leaving you with just under 40gb of space. It is tough to find tablets with 64gb or more under $200. Kindles also are pretty much garbage even after debloated

It's really hard to compare between tablets. For example, the A8 is 189 in Amazon. S line is better than A but the 6 is old and 8 the current gen. This one also has 4 gb ram and the S8 has 8gbs.

edit: I stand corrected. apparently the s6 lite was released in 2022.

Agreed that a decade old $40 tablet, which used to be very functional at the time, is no longer useful, which is why I ask what has developed.

I figured that after a decade of development, one might find a 7" tablet with modern OS version for maybe a hundred bucks. Maybe tablets are the 1 piece of technology that becomes more expensive over time.

Anyhow, I want a smaller screen so my thumbs can reach the whole area when I'm using it for flying a drone, or playing a game. Seems 10" would be right at about that limit.

I tried that and they said the model numbers aren't the same. What is the model number of the one you ordered at Best Buy?

Just ordered one for pickup. Scheduling pickup times is screwy, with only am times available, one of which being between 12pm, to 1am. So I have a 13hr window in which to pick it up, after regular store hours?

Checkout applied a random $5 coupon, so total was $195.

Got the latest version (SM-P613) from Samsung.com in December for $80 with old iPad trade-in and EPP.

Exactly, why is it impossible to find an 8" Android tablet with more than 3gb of ram and a decent SoC? I have a Samsung S2 8.0" and I prefer that form factor over the 10+" tablets, but it's no longer supported and I can't find a non-crappy android tablet at that size for any price to replace it, and I don't really want an ipad mini.

After more research, I'm seeing the Tab A7 Lite for $120. It's an 8" tablet that seems to get decent ratings. This deal seems to be geared towards entry level graphic artists because it comes with a stylus and special touch screen meant for that, a faster processor, and better display.

For $195, I'll give this one a whirl despite the 10" screen possibly being bigger than I'd like.
