Do not buy this fridge. Replacement parts are rare or unavailable if anything breaks. Water dispenser is also slow and the long pull out drawer is flimsy. I have one. I know, and I regret it.
Hisense or Daewoo probably makes it.
It uses DW2042FR filter, which goes in Daewoo refrigerators, but on the other hand, it looks the same as this[hisense-usa.com] Hisense
Your statement makes no sense. Just because Samsung has a reputation for making horrible refrigerators doesn't make the Insignia a great refrigerator or bad refrigerator or anything in between.

YMMV but I see rebates in certain areas from select Power Companies for recycling of your old fridge. There's an optional fee of $25 to have them install the fridge as well. I also see several open-box: Open-Box Excellent for $799.99, although stock is likely very limited, and an Open-Box Satisfactory for $749.99.
It's just made by lg or whirlpool. You think best buy makes fridges? What about ikea? Shit. Even sears Kenmore was just whirlpool products.
I agree. Its just my personal opinion/preference. I have had bad experience from a Insignia TV few years ago. It went bad exactly after 1 year, GeekSquad replaced motherboard. It went bad exactly after another year ( no kidding/exaggeration) and GeekSquad said motherboard has to be replaced to fix the issue. I put the TV in trash right away and decided to never buy Insignia products in my life again.

You do realize the chances of this fridge having less issues than a Samsung is 100% right?

All appliances are made poorly these days. Get the extended warranty and role the dice. I had both LG and Whirlpool refrigerators with major issues. We got a full refund on a whirlpool they couldn't fix. We still have it, but the ice maker doesn't work. Extended warranty is well worth it. I don't care what brand it is.

I totally believe in this, i have my appt with all Samsung appliances but the only one that is not working properly is the refrigerator. With Extended warranty you save a lot of hassle specially on refrigerator. Stove and everything else is great.

Then why did you click on a deal for an Insignia product? If you refuse to buy their products, that's understandable. Maybe go click on the Samsung fridge deals instead?

It makes perfect sense if you've ever owned a Samsung fridge
