I do Amazon reviews for pay. Massage guns are probably THE most fake reviewed item on Amazon. On most non name brand listings, about 70% of reviews are fake.

Massage guns are basically all the same. Buy a cheap one. If you spend 30 minutes looking around, you'll notice the same massagers posted again and again under different brand names, for WILDLY different prices, but they're all the same.

I've owned about 30 massage guns from $30-300. They're all the exact same quality.

I bought a cheaper one for my wife a few years ago (Urikar). She also uses a Hypervolt at her gym. She thinks the Hypervolt is a tiny bit stronger, but she prefers her cheaper one because it has 30 different levels versus the Hypervolt's 3.

If it's as powerful or stronger than costco Sharper Image for $80 or $60 when "on sale", it's a good deal. I can't speak for costco Sharper Image quality i just bought it recently.

Have a version of this. If you buy one make sure you have someone to use it on you.

I have a Theragun - it works fine. How are these much cheaper ones compared to the Theragun?
It's YMMV between models. The one I have (not the OP) is literally the same as a theragun. I paid $70

Lol! This is rather funny. I bought this exact model the last time it was featured here on SD and I *just* repaired it a few nights ago. Amazon shows as "Last purchased Jul 3, 2021" for 29.99 so this is even cheaper.

So how's it been?: Well I use it pretty regularly since I purchased it (by regularly I mean a few times a week) because I'm a cyclist and have chronic knee pain due to bad hip flexibility and ridiculously tight IT bands. I definitely have gotten my value out of it.

My "repair" was due to it making a knocking sound that progressively got louder and louder over time. I could feel something was loose inside when I shook it. I presumed it was the battery pack knocking around and I just needed to slip in some padding between the battery and the internal walls of the device but after doing that, it didn't resolve it. I came to find out the rotating mechanism itself, well, the bottom bracket specifically, below the oscillating arm that is what has come loose through vibration.

Literally the simplest fix ever: 4 little screws needed to be retighten and this would NEVER had grown into an issue if the manufacture had just used a little bit of loctite! --I've found this is a common issue among a lot of random devices that have moving parts, they eventually fail or become noisy because manufactures don't use some way to secure their screws. So yeah, good product, silly potential failure but with an exceedingly easy fix. With that in mind, I would easily recommend it.

Y'all want some eye-opening info on the quality of this, check the Amazon reviews and sort by "most recent".

Yikes.

I'd avoid this.

I want something like this that I can use on my own shoulders. Right now I roll around on a lacrosse ball on the floor to hit my knots.

How you like it ? Recent reviews scares me
I have probably used less than 50 times and charged probably 5 times in total. They are alright and works for me. If you're getting started, this is a good price point and I would just get one.
I did had chance to own Theragun pro but passed on it as this works for me. May be you would need a swiveling head or the one is triangular down the line.
Always look at stall force of the massage gun. Cheaper ones or even the lower end Theragun have weaker stall force, which is a no go if you plan to use it on a heavy leg day.

Plus one. They price difference to value does down. I would own a vibrating roller instead of just a massage gun with that money

Thank you . In for one here

I have theragun pro here so I know what you are talking about in stall force. ( I am a marathon runner here and use it daily )

This one I plan to leave it the car for those damn dead stop traffic days use 😅. Also my family members can use in car. Wonder if battery is replaceable.. I have no problem here with soldering new battery in if the part is available

I bought 3-4 similar ones before landing on one I liked. Biggest issue I found? Low torque. You'd try to push downward and put a little muscle into it and the gun would stop. Back to Amazon it went and no money out of my pocket. I ended up keeping this one. [amazon.com] Bought August of 2020 and still going strong. Battery lasts quite a few massage sessions. If you push real hard you can get it to stop, but it's night and day better than others we bought. Still no complaints after 2.5 years for the price paid.
