Nice for the money. For couples or smaller families, it would be ideal. I'm a big fan of smaller crock pots, as some of these have just gotten enormous. Just yesterday, I paid $19.96 for a 4 qt Crock Pot from Walmart for that reason. It's just my wife and I now, and the larger crock pots are just too big for us. These cookers work better when they are 2/3 full, so I have no need for a 7 or 8 quart slow cooker. If you do need one, Sam's has a very nice Crock Pot 7 qt digital/travel lid/carrying bag model for $39.98.
This deal is for a manual slow cooker, and that's fine, I like the simplicity of a manual. The one caveat, if you plan to add ingredients and come back 8 hours later, digital/programmable may be a better option. The reason is, even on low, slow cookers today tend to cook too hot. That's not me saying that, it's the #1 complaint if you read reviews, regardless of brand. That's the advantage of digital/programmable. You can program it to cook for however number of hours you want, and at the end of the cook cycle it will kick down to warm till you get home, thus avoiding over-cooking. Here's a link to a 5 qt Hamilton Beach programmable for $11 more:
