Just got the x3700 refurb from Denon for 850+tax (after student beans and $50 off email sign up coupons). Didn't expect 3800 to be this low already but I think sticking with the 3700 for ~$200 less is the way to go.

Good deal. Yes if you don't need the few extra features that the 3800 has then the 3700 is a fantastic sounding piece of equipment.

This works properly with HDMI 2.1 4k@120hz, VRR, Gsync, etc? That's what I mainly care about.

Love my 3700, but if this had been active in December it would have been hard to turn this down vs. $1200 for a new 3700.

Fyi, if you want to get the Dirac live upgrade for this its going to cost $249 for limited and $349 for full bandwidth version. I thought it was going to be included but it will not be, its an optional upgrade.

Edit: Plus another almost $100 or more for a Dirac live compatible mic.

Not sure if that makes an audible difference making that just a measurable improvement.

By the way all newer 3700 uses the same chip as 3800,4800 etc.

With 3800 you get
Plenty of 8K inputs
Four subwoofer outputs
Support for bass shakers
Auro
9 channel amp and 11 channel processing.

3800 Compares to 4700
