I was also able to apply a 20% off BBB coupon and bring the price down to $480 before tax on the Breville Barista Express. Good deal considering that a couple of days ago it was going for $749. The return policy at BBB is also 60 days (much better than Best Buy's current 15 days). I guess the risk is that BBB goes out of business...

These were $500 at least 6 years ago. I remember seeing it at some kitchen store in the mall. I checked online thinking it was marked up but that was MSRP at the time.
Ended up scoring one off of marketplace for $80 a few years ago and it's a beast. It would be hard for me to pay $750 but they are absolutely worth it at $600 and a no brainier if you can get it for under 5

Does not come with bottomless but you can buy one. Plenty of folks use that type of setup on r/espresso. Personally I think you're better off with a Eureka grinder and a Breville Bambino for a entry level setup at this price point, but just my two cents...

It used to come with both a set of single/double pressurized and single/double non-pressurized. One of the benefits of the machine is the pressure indicator that you can use in finetuning your grind/volume for the non-pressutized ones

My wife only uses the steamer wand less than half of the time...she is happy with cold creamer. In hindsight it would be smarter to buy the smaller version to save money and take up less space.... assuming you use a separate grinder.

Since we are comparing. I paid $350 for the 860XL refurbished in 2011. According to an inflation calculator, that's about $500 in 2023 dollars. So this doesn't seem that far off all things considered.

Of note, I've never been able to pull a quality shot out of the thing. Serviable but nothing good enough to stop me from going to my local coffee shop.

It works in-store regardless. I bought a Breville Bambino last year at BBB and used the 20% coupon in the store with no issue. It will not work online though.
