yes, it will come with a padded gig bag and indio is decent quality. i would pay someone to professionally set it up. most come with high action that makes it harder to learn on, but a good setup will fix that

They're good for anyone! These guitars are on par with $500 guitars and cost next to nothing. The quality is astounding for the price.

If you're a Telecaster fan, the Tele-style Indio is on sale for $77 shipped.

Be aware, solid ash will make this guitar heavier than poplar/basswood.

If someone is looking to start from scratch, consider looking at the full cali classic kit.

$105 + tax shipped after the coupon and it includes a very basic amp. I picked this kit up recently as my first electric guitar, and having everything you need to get started was nice. Even if the amp isn't great, it's doing just fine while I figure out how to play.

I bought this (for more) sometime last year, and ended up returning it as I ordered specifically as a platform to mod, and I wanted the two point bridge/trem system that it was supposed to come with and was pictured with. What I received is the (much cheaper) Wilkinson 6 screw bridge, as well as cheaper Wilkinson pickups (I don't think they were alnico but didn't confirm). It was a really nicely made guitar and there were no issues with it, it just wasn't what I ordered, so I returned it. For the price that I paid though, it was a great deal, and this is even cheaper, even with the cheaper parts than advertised, it is a heck of a nice guitar even if it were more expensive it would still be a good deal. Also, it was indeed a heavy b*stard, but some people (like LP people) like a hefty guitar, and if you play seated it won't matter that much. Either way, you won't have to worry about neck dive, but make sure you install some strap locks and have a good strap Big Grin.

It's a solid guitar but like most guitars in this price range it will most likely need a setup and fret work. Great guitar to learn on and modify. I have a few myself that I practiced on doing fret work and modifying. Once dialed in and modified you could gig with the guitar.

What they sent me was an SSS though... and other reviews on the SSS DLX they also got the same downgraded parts. Ah well, the return was easy and was free, so I can't complain, and not saying this is a bad deal at all, probably the best new guitar you will find anywhere close to this price... just be aware of what you are getting (unless they have gone back to the 2 pt trim and alnico pickups).

You probably want a nylon string guitar. Steel string guitars will blister your fingers like crazy but in time you'll get used to it.

Does anyone know the quality difference between this and the op? I don't mind paying a little more if it's worth it. (Starting from scratch for me and my 10yo son)
