Wait till after May 2023 7 Year merger agreement Ends and can legally add data caps and modem fees again. They tried back in 2020 to get FCC to allow them
Then put the router next to the modem/TV, connect the modem to the router, and the router to your TV, and replace your existing router with a switch.
Connecting your TV straight to the modem without a router/firewall is a bad idea, if that's how you were planning on using the second port on this modem.
Unless you have at least a prosumer router that can take advantage of link aggregation (multiple WAN ports), or pay for multiple ISP links and have multiple routers for failover, having two ports isn't a big limitation for most setups.

Can someone recommend a decent router to pair with the Modem please will rep! TIA
Recommending a router is similar to recommending a car: ask three different people, and they will give you 20 different recommendations. It all comes down to your individual priorities, desired features, network setup, and budget.
I have this modem on Xfinity and recently configured it for link aggregation. Works fine with speeds over 1gig (1.2 to 1.4ish) but now I am seeing a lot of random reboots. This did not happen when I was using only one port on the modem. I just ordered the Motorola with the single 2.5gb port that was on sale, hoping that doesn't reboot. Though I have read people complain it does, can't win I guess.
Your upstream levels are way too high. I consider 42-45 dBmV high enough though some cable companies can tolerate up to 51 dBmV. Yours is at 52-55 dBmV. You will experience service interruptions and degradation.
If you're handy, check your coaxial splitters (if any) installed and cable wire connections. You may need to replace them if you have TV service setup in other parts of your residence.
Otherwise, you would need a call out to line tech to rewire your service line.
Most tier 1 techs may advise you to change out your modem first. Maybe if you have another modem or friend's modem you can borrow to compare readings, you can narrow the scope of the problem.
If your modem log shows T3 + T4 errors, then yeah your line may need servicing.
You would think COX would push DOCSIS 4 if they think it's a better and cheaper product to deploy and maintain.
I have solved my problem!
1. For years, I have this indoor TV/cable splitter and ALWAYS get high speed.
2. Yesterday, when I disconnect the splitter, I notice it is loose! I dont know what happened!
3. I take out the splitter bc I dont watch TV since long time ago.
4. I screw only this cable from outside to my modem.
5. Now I am getting 950 mbps (over provisioning from 800 mbps thanks Concast) and 24 mbps up since yesterday.
Anyone have experience with a renewed device? is it worth the extra money for the piece of mind of a new device?
Amazon's renewed program seems pretty good from what others have said.
For modems specifically. I have a 3-4Ish year old renewed modem and I've never thought about it. Just always works.

I have the 8163 will the 8200 perform lot better, thanks.
Only if you pay for speeds that the 6183 can't handle.
I had the 6183 for a while and it was solid. When I upgraded to 1gig, it couldn't handle those speeds so I went to the 8200. but if i was still on 400mbps or less, the 6183 would still be handling that just fine.
It's a good question because there isn't really anything outside of video calls for my spouse and I for work and a Netflix steam when we aren't working.

The bug in the link aggregation feature that causes it to reboot after 24 hrs affects every SB8200 and has not been fixed after 4 years of firmware updates. A huge shame because it's very powerful hardware and handles >1Gbit just fine before the bug causes the crash. I finally got fed up with mine and replaced it with a Netgear CM1150V and that has been working reliably with aggregation enabled.
BTW if anyone wants my SB8200 for cheap, PM me. (I also have the CM8200 version in the black chassis lol)

Holy crap I didn't even know that was a bug in this modem!! Glad I ordered the Motorola now, but a shame since this arris is still a good modem.
BTW, you can usually find the CM8200 for this price or less, that is the OEM version of the SB8200 except in a black chassis. I own both versions and they function identically. Comcast/Xfinity do not have the CM8200 in their database, so you may need to tell them it is a SB8200 when registering it but once you do it is recognised by their system.
ever ever buy used modem, they will dc and reconnect constantly.
That may be your experience, but refurbished modems is all I have ever bought. Current unit is a 5 year old DOCSIS 3.0 SB6183 (bought from Newegg for $35) and is handling my 200 Mbps download speed like a champ (actually generally get 215+ Mbps).
