As a Vietnamese, this is a great deal if you want your vacay to land under $1.2k/person total, while having the amazing street food and most friendly people around.

Book direct with the airline instead of with Expedia. If anything goes wrong or you need to change your flight, going through a third party (Expedia in this case) can lead to a lot of frustration and additional cost.

I've found it for $500-700~ round trip from Houston before wait a couple of months and check Scott's cheap flights.

There are some dates with $800 from DFW to SGN in Sept, Oct, and Nov. I have been tracking flights from SFO to SGN. I found that Thursday usually has the lowest fares.

In all fairness the rain typically doesn't last that long. But I agree it is hot and insanely humid in the summer time, and yet somehow the VN still eat pho at all times of the day without needing air-conditioning.

Agreed. When I got a cancellation, I contacted them to ask about which difference between booking from them and booking from the airline. They said there was no difference. Their job is just gathering all the flights for comparison. That's all!
