I don't see these being listed as DOT compliant. Legally these can't be used on public road ways.

Like 99.99999999% of them. In fact fine even 1 led DOT retrofit headlight bulb.

For the price these would be good for foglights not low beam lights

Ya none of them will meet DOT. Don't use these in reflector headlights is the major thing anyways.

I would pass on these. 12k LM is very dim.
You need to compare LUX vs Lumen... LUX is a more real definition of useable light than lumens.

This DDM kit does 9766 Lumens in actual testing, and lux -
Low beam Reflector Lux (per): 1288
High beam Reflector Lux (per): 1973
Low beam Projector Lux Hotspot (per): 683
High beam Projector Lux (per): 722

https://www.bulbfacts.com/led-kit...eview.html

Even still at 9700k lumens this kit would blow this kit out the water as it is probably barely over 1k. I know they are wildly different in price but just to give perspective on price per what you are getting. If these even do 2-3k lumens they aren't bad for the price but you likely aren't gong to find any actual review data on them.

For the price they are worth a shot on something you don't care that much about. They still likely would be better than regular halogens and still less in cost.

These are great for blinding oncoming traffic. Seriously, if you are replacing halogens... don't. Just don't. Perfectly fine for off-road use if you want to spotlight deer, but LEDs like these are dangerous on the road. Any LED replacement that claims to be DOT approved is 100% lying. I researched LEDs for several months and even tried a couple, but could never get the darn cut-off right to keep the glare out of the eyes of oncoming drivers. So I went back to halogen so I wouldn't cause (and be part of) an accident. And if insurance finds out your headlights were illegal LEDs, and caused an accident, you could lose big time. Just not worth it.

Staying with halogen doesn't mean you have to live with yellow headlights either. I found some halogens with a hint of blue tint on the glass and am quite content now. An example of these is the Philips CrystalVision. You can also search for "super white" halogen or xenon headlights. I used the cheap no-name brand. I got the look I wanted while still keeping the sharp cut-off to prevent light spillage.

Oh, and if you insist on trying LEDs despite my warning, PLEASE search online and learn how to re-aim your headlights. Find a parking lot with a flat wall and make sure the light drops down the wall as you slowly back up. Take a picture before/after you swap the bulbs to compare the cut-off heights (if you can even get a clear cut-off with the LEDs). Good luck!

Hard to determine if any of these led bulbs are worth it. Even the sylvania bulb reviews indicate short life span.

Even if these fit, your car computer may still throw an error code. That was my issue with my LED conversion attempt. Guess what, after trying 4 different styles and brands from Amazon that claimed to be compatible, all 4 either were too dim, wouldn't fit perfectly into the clips for my housing, and ALL triggered a headlight warning from my car's computer, like the car knew they weren't compatible. I returned all 4 sets of headlights and purchased OEM compatible, Sylvania brand, bulbs.

I forgot to add, the warning repeats every 20-min, so it was an unlivable situation for long drives to have that warning pop up.
