I meant the Amazon listing is incorrect, not this post.

Motherboard is "full" ATX so it's too big if you need an itx board.

Boy they're really trying to push those 5700X CPUs. Does this suggest another coming price cut on the CPU itself? I just got a new X570S MB so I'm set there.

Plus, MicroCenter via Amazon? When did that become a thing and does it make it irrelevant if you don't live near one now?

This is an AM4 processor and the Ryzen 7 7700x is already out so retailers are aggressively trying to move AM4 motherboards. In my opinion, AM5 doesn't make a lot of sense for most people because with the exception of a few nvme drives, there are not really any components that can benefit from AM5 and DDR5 is still stupid expensive. There's still a ton of life left in zen2 for most people. The real zen3 benefits will be seen much more quickly in server tech

In store deals are still better, but this does open up some stuff to people who don't live near a micro center, which is a lot of people.

Probably not, it seems the "best" deals are still in-store only (e.g. above shown 5800x + B550 for $299) these probably are a bit more comparable to some of the "lesser deals" e.g. ones for $20 off in store.

Also options seem to be a bit lower too and you may simply be getting the leftover scraps that they simply can not sell "in store" anymore, which IMO is fine I think motherboards are overrated for the vast majority of what people use them for i.e. no need to get a high(er) end MB, although I do worry about that tiny fan on the MB in the picture and whether or not it has a high pitched screech when temps rise.

Either way the Amazon store is a royal PITA to search through as nothing is catagorized but if you want a decent combo it might be worth it.

I wish they would ship the i5/i7 mobo combo deals, even if it was $20 extra or whatever. Microcenter is 3.5hours one way not counting traffic.
