Since the previous deal with just the bare tool is dead, posting this combo with 6.0ah battery, rapid charger, and custom packout. Great deal for a new release. 10% off MSRP, plus additional 20% when using code PRESDAY20 during checkout.

I would highly recommend two additional accessories for a track saw:

90 degree track guide. This is a removable guide that attaches to the track in order to quickly cut 90 degree cuts. There are quite a few available ranging from Festool to no name brads on the usual sites, search '90 degree track saw guide'.

This makes it very easy to quickly make a squared cut. I bought one with the Makita plunge saw set when I got it a few months ago and it has become just as necessary as the guides at this point for squared cuts.

If you are breaking down 4x8 sheets, a 4x8 sheet of foam board insulation used as a sacrificial board. You can find these at most box stores. This makes it easy cut up a 4x8 sheet of wood on the floor or on a table since you can sink your blade through the material into the foam, keeping in mind correct blade depth: https://youtu.be/6fNOpI-YHYg. Example of what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/_f1fdsjU89U.

Pro tip, you can cut the foam board sheet up so you don't have to store/wrestle with a floppy 4x8 foam board: https://youtu.be/nGkDC9DfsB0.

Lastly, if you have access to a 3D printer there are several 3D printed accessories you can print. Including vacuum hose deflector. I also printed a cover for the open part where you can access the bolt to remove the blade in order to cut down on dust. This is the Makita version, there will likely be one for the Milwaukee too if there isn't already: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4703634
You can easily add a guide on to a door slab and use a decent circular saw for something like that. Track saws are only really necessary, or worth their cost, if you have a need for precision cutting long runs on sheets of wood. Obviously you need to make sure you have enough workspace for handling such large sheets when cutting them.

I definitely could see this being a great tool for a professional carpenter/contractor. Donny DIYer, on the other hand, who would need/use this type of tool maybe once every five years (at that). I'm not so sure it's worth that kind of coin. Most are probably better off just getting a Kreg track for circular saws.

The 90* degree track guides I have seen are crazy expensive. Have you found an economical one?

It was 20% off and came with the 55 rails. Not Black Friday. I went corded, but wish I had not.

I bought the orange one found HERE [amazon.com]. You might be able to shop around and find this clone type for cheaper.

My thinking was that if the guide wasn't close enough to 90 degrees I could loosen the clips and adjust. Since it has 2 clips it would give me a bit more flexibility and ideally hold tighter to the guide similar to the Festool version. But out of the box it was good enough for what I'm doing.

I purchased the Makita XPS01PMJ (36V 2X 18V LXT) Brushless Plunge Circular Saw Kit for $365.15 ($389.80 w/ tax) & free shipping. I purchased 2x55" tracks from Rockler at the same time for $151.98 (164.52 w/ tax). So $517.13 pre-tax, or $554.32 w/ tax for: saw, 2x55" Makita tracks, 2x4.0AH batteries, dual charger, case for saw w/ separate stackable case for batteries and charger. So this Milwaukee is certainly in the ballpark.

One thing I do like on the Milwaukee, is inside the case it looks like they used a formed hard foam for everything to set into. On the Makita the saw rests in some sort of flimsy plastic that seemed far less substantial. I'm sure it will be fine over time for a weekend warrior but just throwing that out there. The Makita came with 2 cases, one for the saw, and one for the batteries and charger which are stackable with Festool style of case stacking from what I understand. I'll say the stacking is a wash but I have to imagine most people, especially on SlickDeals, might have more Packout than Festool style cases. Although, one case with everything nicely packed in foam is more convenient.

Lastly, since this is from eBay, you can buy eBay gift cards from Target using the RedCard to get 5% back on the gift cards then immediately turn and use them on eBay. Chase has 5% back this quarter for Target as well, but I'm not 100% sure that this will cover gift card purchases through Target.

Thank you. That's so much more reasonable than a $160 TSO square. Have you found it to be accurate?

Out of the box it was plenty accurate for my cuts. But I made sure to choose one that was adjustable just in case.

I don't have the Milwaukee Track saw, yet... I ordered one, so I will have to see if it performs well. I have a lot of Milwaukee, so adding the track saw will be an easy transition that will give me cordless ability.

I do have two of the Dewalt corded track saws with tracks and accessories.

If you don't have a track saw or never used one, you don't know what you are missing.

A straight edge and a circular saw are a 1 out of 10 compared to a track saw. The track saw will get you closer to the 10. The cut quality and accuracy are near perfect. The track saw also gives you the ability to cut fractions off of boards and door slabs without tear-out.

The lack of tear-out is probably the best selling point.

I have almost every tool known to man-kind for a woodworking shop and the track saw is ranked as one of the most valuable when needed. You probably won't use it every day or need to use it every day, but when it has been used and needed for a particular cut, it has always proven its worth.

Couldn't agree more
