8GB + SSD, this is what a cheap and basic but an usable windows laptop should be , at least….
though some may be wishing for IPS panel as well.

Once the power is done over usb-C and has DP-Alt mode, I'll fully agree.

I expect that's how the next gen of cheap laptops is. Else, for now, I'll stick with a used T470

This or the Walmart one for 129? Lenovo Ideapad 1i, 14.0" Laptop, Intel Pentium N5030, 4GB RAM, 128GB eMMC Storage, Cloud Grey, Windows 11 in S Mode, 82V6001DUS https://www.walmart.com/ip/218677627
that one only has a 720p display, and very roughly half everything else, including emmc rather than an ssd. probably worth the $70 here unless you really are ballin' on a budget. hope this helps!

Can swap out the 4gb sodimm for an 8gb for 12 total. This seems a better deal imo. Just wish they would ship, closest microcenter is 190 miles away

Can this charge over usb c or are you forced to use a proprietary charger?

Nope, it can't. Proprietary charger all the way.

Oh man that's probably the biggest downer for me. Otherwise, specs are great considering the price point

It looks pretty decent laptop for day-to-day use. 8GB RAM, 14" FHD (1920x1080) display and i3 processor made it tempting.

I have this processor, jacked up operating frequencies keep things moving more than you think. Good for general windows work and other web tasks.

I'd go back to windows 10.

The micro-battery seems to be an annoying point.

Good deal.

The true maximum RAM capacity is almost certainly not the 12GB the manufacturer "officially" supports. (It's very common to see "underspecing" of maximum RAM capacity in PC specs.)

It's pretty safe to assume one could install a 16GB module or 32GB module into the SO-DIMM slot and have 20GB or 36GB of RAM, respectively.

So this doesn't have a USB C port at all? Also does anyone know if the HDMI port can do HDMI 2.0 or 4k@60Hz?
