After having 3 Fire TV sticks in the past and always needed to upgrade as it got so much slower overtime, I switched to the Google TV device ($20 when on sale) and couldn't be happier. Same goes with their Kindle Fire, it was great at the beginning and then it got so much slower - I turned off all the relevant settings I could find but still. Meanwhile my old iPad is still rocking. Used to be a big fan of Amazon devices and not anymore.

i traded in one of these firesticks a few months ago for $11 + 25% off a firestick 4k max. Might be worth it to pickup cheap for 25% off a future fire product

I wouldn't buy this stick. We have a few in the junk drawer. Get the 4k, 4k max or cube. Way faster, gets updates and volume buttons to control the tv which this one does not have.

These aren't quite junk, but close to it. Sometimes they even work. I'm pleasantly surprised when the one in my kids room gets past the loading screen.
