I passed on it when they reduced trade-in values for iphone 11 from $310 to a measly $85
I traded in a smashed S21+ for $286.50

The 512GB upgrade was the incentive during the S23U's pre-order period before launch on Feb 17th. If you didn't pre-order the 512GB, you missed the bus on the free storage upgrade.
Thanks for clarifying.

If we add a T-Mobile eSIM into our Google Fi phone, how do we make sure that we can make calls, receive texts, and most importantly ensure that the data used isnt from Fi? I'm on the Google Fi flexible $20 plan.

Don't know but there's no need to even have the Google fi sim in the ph after activation. You can simply activate & remove the card for 4mo. That's exactly what I did on my s22u to continue visible & recently hit 120 days so cancelled fi.

You would still pay 3 months of google fi at 20$ a month? So the running total would be 660$? Or not using the sim card for a few months avoids being billed?

It was very difficult to pass up the 512gb upgrade for $600. I'm happy on Google Fi with my Pixel 7, but I was upgrading my phone every year by trading the previous model. I basically got the Pixel 7 for free by trading in my 6. I paid $300 from Best Buy after my trade-in, and they threw in $100 GC. Then, Google Fi gave me 4 months of free service and a year of YouTube Premium.

I am going to sell my Pixel 7 to a relative for $200 since it's in perfect condition and is the 256gb variant. $600 for the S23 Ultra is great. If I don't like it, I could easily sell it and break even or trade it in for a Flip 5 or even an iPhone 15 Pro when they come out later this year. If I like the phone, I'll keep it for awhile until another sweet deal shows up.

So your Google Fi phone would need to be unlocked and an eligible phone that supports eSIM and if it is, you would then go into the settings to choose the T-Mobile number to be the primary number and turned

If we set the tmobile number as the primary then would that disqualify you for the gfi promotion?

Guys,
I understand you people that want to stay in your current network because grandfathered plans and etc, but what about people like me?

I ordered under the previous deal.
But I'm on the fence if I should continue on Mint Mobile, or just accept the migration to Google Fi.
So far I like Mint, works very well and I pay a very good price for unlimited data (about 35.00 monthly).
On Fi, I will need to pay 50.00 monthly for unlimited.
What do you guys think?

Received mine from the deal, one nice thing about current fi deals is that you can add an esim to the phone and use it normally with another carrier while fulfilling Fi's port-in or new activation requirements.
I dont understand what this means. Would you mind elaborating. I am not familiar with esim, how they work, and how that relates or helps in this deal.

After 120 days can we use the s23U on any carrier (just like a unlocked phone) ? Any idea of we travel outside USA during the 120 days, will it void the promotion?

Well, they both run on T-mobile's network so it's pretty much same coverage regardless. The only other way you can potentially save money is hopping over to Visible's $30/monthly unlimited data plan to shave off $5/mo.

The main difference between Google Fi's network and Mint's network is that Fi has a higher priority of service on par with Tmobile's itself. This would come in useful when you're in highly condensed areas such as conventions because your Mint mobile's data would get deprioritized to oblivion due to how many people use Tmobile. The only other benefit to Google Fi is their international coverage and VPN.
Fyi, I personally find Mint's customer service much better than Google's.

So in the end, is $15/mo for more consistent data speeds + international coverage more important to you, or would you rather save that that money for a netflix subscription? For practical reasons I don't find the VPN that useful, but it's a nice peace of mind to know you have it.

it comes unlocked. You can pretty much run dual-sim on it immediately as long as your other carrier supports e-sim.
