Unless you must have it, I would wait...storage prices are falling and should continue to do so for the rest of this year. https://www.tomshardware.com/news...y-mid-2023

Older is better. According to the comments at Amazon, it's DRAMless.

But we know it from dozens of news sources as well as common sense...they have tons of inventory and they need to sell it.

I've never used one but the old version was supposedly a pretty good drive. It had DRAM and TLC NAND. The new (SA510) does not have DRAM and I'm unsure what kind of NAND. Even worse, the reviews have a lot of people complaining that it died within a few months. If this deal is truly for the old version, it's quite hot. I wouldn't touch the new version.

The Amazon link does specifically say "previous version".

I suppose it's possible that Amazon could be wrong, but if what it says is inaccurate, then somebody could just return it, if they didn't get exactly what they ordered.

Any one of several world-shifting events could throw off the entire tech industry.

The best time to buy is right now.

Yeah, this has crossed my mind... if something "serious" happens with China or Taiwan then no telling what will happen..... this could end up being one of the storage deals of the decade.

what's the bottom for SSDs? I'd love to buy but I know that something else fairly reputable will be $10 cheaper next week.
