121$ for the 6.0 battery and 196$ for the chain saw both are a good deal! Return either one after purchase. Add 6.0 and chainsaw in this Home Depot ad too your cart. I'm not going to explain the hack it's been gone over 1000's of times in other threads. To my knowledge you can no longer split shipping one to home one to store. Receive both items after order and return one after you receive your items.

I picked this chainsaw up last week using the Home Depot hack. Just used it today to cut down (2) 50 foot tall Italian Cypress trees. TALK ABOUT IMPRESSIVE. I was sketchy about using battery powered equipment, but man this M18 Fuel chainsaw kicks butt!

50 ft tall , how big round was it? Did you use the 14in bar or change it out for a larger bar and chain?

This is a great tool to have, spent the last two weekends, non-stop cutting (10hrs each day), with this saw cleaning up Texas Ice Storm broken oak tress. I bought the 16in bar and chain as well. I have MANY 18V MIL tools and have 6A, 8A and 12A versions of the battery. Like someone above said, this was a positive shocking experience, dont know if i would ever use a gas saw again after the last two weekends with this saw. Good oiling, good chain bar. Keep the chain tight and it will last and stay on. Its not a replacement for say someone who does this all day everyday, but it sure keeps the noise down and its so nice to pull the trigger for 1-3secs of use and not have to start pulling on a rope....

How fast were you going through batteries? I currently have three 5Ah batteries and have a lot of trees that need to be cut down on my property. I also have access to a friends Husqvarna gas chainsaw. Figured gas might be the way here…

These saws are meant to be ran with the HO batteries like the 12.0AH
I tried running my saw with a 5AH and it drained the battery so fast i only got like 3 or 4 cuts from it, with the 12.0 tho it is a beast of a saw, i put a 16" oregon bar on it with a standard chain and it cuts even better, i dont really like the thin kerf blades it comes with stock

I've had this saw since it was originally released. I also have 3 Stihl saws. I have yet to use my 2 smaller Stihl saws (MS170 or MS271) since using the M18 saw. For anything under 12" diameter I use this saw. Over 12" is use my Stihl MS391. I've been cutting a lot of oaks lately with this M18 saw. All the branch work has been done with the M18. The oiler on this saw is excellent also. The chain lasts forever. And it doesn't leak like the Stihl ones do. Yes, it uses more oil but it's worth it. I use used motor oil anyway so oil is pretty much free. You can not go wrong getting this saw. It does use up some power. I mainly use 12ah batteries in it, unless I'm climbing with it, then I use 6ah batteries to drop weight since it hangs in my saddle harness. I only wish Milwaukee did this in a top handle version, then it would be the ultimate arborist saw.

I agree wholeheartedly. And when I wear out the original chain I'm going wider also. The original thin kerf bar&chain setup allows the chain to derail easily when it starts getting slightly loose.

Don't even think about using 5.0 batteries with this saw. You have to use the 21700 cell version batteries i.e. 6ah, 8ah, 12ah. Even the 9AH (18650 cells) are not up to par for this saw.
Definitely worth it if you're a home owner who's already in the M18 ecosystem. I love my little saw.
Even if you're a pro Sawyer this saw fits nicely into your arsenal of saws. It's so nice not having to deal with fuel and not having to leave it idling on the ground or having to pull start it all the time. I use the crap out of this saw. Probably to the point where I misuse/abuse it.
