Good deal for CPU with basic integrated graphics and a bundled cooler..... if you've got a board for it.
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to build from scratch with this.
Hard to say, Id rather put that in the piggy bank towards 13th Gen CPUs. Its on another level.

The I5 11400 is 17,000. I would say it might make more sense upgrading to an 11400 but the problem is they're hard to find. I think the cheapest one I saw was 140-150. So you have to ask is the extra 50$ worth it?

ASRock Z590 PRO4 LGA 1200 Intel Z590 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard
for $80.
90+80=$170
DDR4 8GBx2 =40
170+40=$210
Add power supply and SSD ; for about $275 you get a bootable PC.
GTX 1660 Super 6GB / AMD RX 6600/6600XT/6650XT 8GB are about $200~$275.
200~275 + 275= $475~$550
You can play "Hogwarts Legacy" at 1080p for about $500 or so.
There is a wizard in everyone of us, wouldn't you say?

At 80$ if you buy it though it can be a fun inexpensive project for you but youll be going thru this again.
But to make the jump to Intel 13th gen even the 13400f. That cpu is 200. Then motherboard will be about 200. You can swap over your memory and hard drives etc. but you can see how making a system upgrade goes from 90$ to 400-500$ minimum.
But then you would have your old system minus the drives and power supply. And selling used pc components is kind of a pain in the butt. It's way easier to resell a full system than to part it out but you would have to essentially build a second computer out of your old system and that takes more $$$.
See how it snowballs?

(B450<<B550, BTW. No memory overclocking with the older set.)
Really, for up to a 6700/3060 Ti, these are good enough CPUs.
This would pair nicely with RX 5700 TX which are running $160, if you can find one with a non-mining pedigree. Build a decent gaming PC for just about $500.

The i5-10400 actually is a better chip from gaming at stock setting, marginally.
