Basically, the $299 version of this laptop is not officially supported by Windows 11, while the rest are.

If you dont like the laptops you buy from Dell Refurb, how is the return process? Do they charge for shipping fee, restocking fee? TIA

I thought these are good until I saw that this model still doesn't have HDMI port. (only VGA) for external display.

Edit:

I was wrong, the HDMI port is on the back. I only looked at the sides. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I bought a Latitude 7400 eBay refurbished. Touchpad started being janky after several months. It would randomly start getting laggy and then stop working altogether until you put the computer into sleep and wake it up again. Bottom rubber feet are also loose. I'd never pay a premium over "used" for eBay refurbished again.

Please inform if you chose a Grade "A" or "B" Dell 5480 based on the cosmetic grade scale. I'm thinking of getting a refurbished 5490 and deciding between the cosmetic grades.

No touchscreen options (which have been in this price range in prior Dell refurbished deals). Otherwise these represent a solid investment in Windows 11-capable productivity PCs.

1366x768 is a best resolution for work laptop. The battery time is MUCHHHH longer than a 1080p one. And you dont have to set the "150% scale" setting in windows, which is just making thing weird. You can connect to an external monitor for higher resolution when in the office.

I bought one that came defective and it was easy to return and get an RMA and Fedex prepaid shipping label after I told them bios hardware diagnostics failed, but it looks like you pay a restocking fee if you just do not like the product. From their websute:

What is the return policy?

You may return product purchases within 30 days from the date of the invoice to obtain credit for the purchase price (excluding shipping and handling charges). Please note a restocking fee of 15% of the purchase prices may be charged unless the product is defective (as reasonably determined by DFS at DFS's sole discretion) or the return is a direct result of a DFS error.

To return products, please contact us at 800-891-8595 to obtain an RMA (Return Material Authorization) and for the instructions on returning the item back to DFS.

I haven't see those ports in ages.
