Looks like a filter for 1080p screens (leaving the 1366x768 for only the most hardcore Slickdeals shoppers) has a range of models discounted down to between $190-220 with 4-core, 8th generation i5 CPUs. No touchscreen options (which have been in this price range in prior Dell refurbished deals). Otherwise these represent a solid investment in Windows 11-capable productivity PCs.

Some of the 8th Gen i7 might be 2-3 years old. I recall 8th Gen i7 has been selling very long time even 9th n 10th Gen available.

At work, all my co-workers are issued Dell laptops with USB-C docks. All of them have issues with the USB-C docks. One has issues with keeping the battery charged on A/C power, another has issues with the video on the 2nd monitor constantly going out; a third has connectivity issues based on the physical angle of the cable (like a short).

Anyone know if that issue has improved on newer Dell models?

All these issues on latitude models (new and old) have pretty much been fixed by drivers, BIOS, and firmware updates. Have them run support assist with the dock plugged in. Then check the monitors support downloads. Also make sure they are using the large dock power adapter that it came with. The only other issue might their USB-C connection getting damaged if they are too hard on them. It also might help to contact your IT people and not a deal site comment board.

I bought a refurbished Dell Precision, it was supposed to be grade A, but it looked pretty beat up for a grade A… I'm wondering how grade B looks like!

I grabbed a 5480 last week on that sale. Said B condition but this thing is brand spanking new. Not a single blemish on it. Absolutely love it! Only draw back is crappy screen but with some settings its usable. I bought it as a back up greenhouse laptop so I wanted something with biz power but cheap and durable. Just wanted to give my experience with dell refurb.

Works perfect with Geforce now. I played ARMA3 and Fornite with full ultra settings on my 5480 cheaper laptop last night. Played perfect.

I bought one of these last time it was posted and the laptop somehow made it past refurbishing when the keyboard didn't work. When I contacted dell they said my options were
A. have them send me a new keyboard and do a self replacement
or
B. Return it for full refund.

You sure I got the cheaper older 5480 model and it has both VGA and HDMI. Pictures on this also show HDMI on back.

Pretty sure better deals can be found on eBay from reputable sellers. I bought a Latitude 5470 that had 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for $209 on there last year. It's been a champ. Granted it's not the latest processor, but I've been extremely pleased for my use case which is HAM radio, remoting in to servers, and email/web browsing.
