Probably no real reason to buy this for more than $5-7 I assume? I had a handheld of this back in the day…

Yes, just played that in all of it's 486 glory a couple of weeks back. Proud to say that only my son died on the long trip to Oregon…

I wouldn't say it's awful (you're welcome to say that) but I also didn't like it. The old versions are much better. Some of the random events are so random there's no sense to them. I played through multiple games and every game had bad events happen almost constantly. That's not an exaggeration.

This is pretty close to a typical game: Wagon axle broke. The next day James broke a leg. The next day Martha died of dysentery. The next day an ox died. Ford a river 18 inches deep? Wagon overturns, you lose supplies, and someone dies (I actually had that happen).

The game should be called The Cursed Oregon Trail. It's like the Oregon Trail meets Dark Souls.

Maybe the devs have rebalanced the game but this is not a good version of The Oregon Trail.

I can't see myself paying more than $4.99 for this. If and when it comes down further in price, I'll bite, but until then, I have it on other devices.

Oregon trail 2 deluxe edition is where it is at. Had that as a kid and came in a wooden box with the cd rom. Wish I could find a working version of that game, not the cartoon one that came out later

This is a switch port of the Apple Arcade game and got rated well. Still too steep for me but maybe not for some people
