I got the free (with trade in) Moto Edge 2022 phones on T-Mobile. Pretty cool phone, high end features in a mid-range price. Free making it better (trading in previous "free" phones to get it). Big phone, very nice screen, some useful features, close to stock look and feel.

This Moto Edge+ 2022 has a lot of similarities to the non-Plus, but some key differences:
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (2022 flagship processor) vs the Mediatek Dimensity 1050
this has 512GB of storage (!) vs 128GB
USB-C supports HDMI vs doesn't. This is important since both phones have a Desktop mode called Ready For like Samsung's DeX, but the non-Plus version can only do it through Miracast (wireless with lag) or over USB with Windows. Desktop mode (DeX) is probably most useful over HDMI, which the Edge+ can do.

With the phone being locked to Boost makes it very unappealing if you're not planning on staying with them. And Motorola has promised 4 years of updates with bimonthly security updates, but my Edge 2022 is still on Android 12, with Google getting ready to release 14 later this year, and security update still on Dec 2022, despite nearing the end of February.

I, like others, have been burned by Motorola and their update promises in the past.

But man, all that this phone packs for that price is so intriguing.

Would be a great deal if it can be unlocked easily. Without unlock, this is lukewarm at best.

12 month assuming with $25 plan = $300 + $200 for phone = $500. Might as well buy another flagship at that price.

I've owned Motorolas in the past. You fool me once... Darn it, they fooled me twice. In short, it's a Horrible company
I loved my Moto X, but it was a weird time when they were owned by Google and sold to Lenovo/IBM and based in Texas. The transition wasn't smooth and so no updates were made for awhile. Independent developers had to compile the code, and that's above my knowledge. The battery eventually got so bad that I could no longer use it, but I still have it. A friend on mine flashed LineageOS on it so it boots.

Obviously, Google started their own phone business, and I'm a Pixel user now, but I'm switching to the S23 Ultra next month because I got a great deal from Google Fi. I'll sell the Pixel 7. Motorola just needs to improve on their updates and security. It's not all about specs. But I do miss the gestures for camera and flashlight.

Overall, even with a $25/month payment ($300 for the year) plus the $200 phone, it's a good deal if you use their service. But don't expect high trade-in values or resale prices when you get the itch to upgrade.

Generally true, but this phone will get three OS updates. Four years security. Of course Motorola could change their minds.
lies.
my Moto One action was promised 3 OS updates.
then a year after i bought it and the 1st update, they clarified all moto one actions EXCEPT those built for the US get additional updates. Mad

yes, i can side load the India model's OS but why do i have to do that?
and whats the different between the USA and India models?? Confused

anyway, there's a chance after the 1st OS update that you wont get any more.

Amazon Warehouse phones will come used and probably poor condition. This exact phone on Amazon, Brand New, costs $800. If you want to pay $600+ more for an unlocked version be my guest. The whole point is that this phone is pretty much a steal at only $200.
How is it a steal when it is locked for 12 months requiring you to pay for continued service of $40+ per month?

How is boost able to offer this phone at such a low price. ? According to these specs, it's better than the Pixel and nearly as good as Samsung's top of the line phones, but it's only $200. Motorola has to be selling these at a MASSIVE loss This is one of the best deals out there at the moment IMHO ........
People aren't telling ya moto has flaws. I never had a Samsung reboot like they do. I quickly learned sd may be promoting these after buying a couple. Currently I can't use bt an wif together i an GPS since last update. It cuts out. In fact could be the moto an not my carrier which I thought began to give low speeds

They don't support their phones so if you care about updates stay away. They are fine as a Dad or Grandpa phone though. Just for light use like call, text, email, web browsing, and watching YouTube.
Yes, perhaps a lower end $100 Motorola device is for a grandparent. This flagship device is highly rated by every site and reviewer that isn't in Apple or Samsung's pocket. Try thinking for yourself.

I think you only have to pay for 1 month and then it unlocks after a year. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They haven't shown any reason to believe anything they say. Hell, they haven't finished rolling out android 12 yet 😂

They *might* give 3 Android updates, but it may take them 5 years.

I'm on the $25 plan. Tried buying it, it went through, but it immediately got cancelled. Currently with boost chat seeing why that happened. Soooo, considering their god awful support, YMMV

Edit: Boost doesn't know why it got cancelled. I don't know why it would from my end though. shake head

most likely you are flagged as a reseller and CSR wont/cant do anything. Try a different CC, different email and if same thing , you are done buying from Boost

I don't know how that would be the case. I've never bought a phone from them, just a single sim kit back in November when I started my service.
