Easily Michael Mann's best and IMO one of the best movies ever. I know Heat has really gained in popularity in the past couple years, but can't recommend it enough. Make sure to have a good sound system as well. Outstanding music and action sounds.

If you like Heat, Id recommend also Collateral, Manhunter and Thief.

Hopefully this doesn't spoil for anyone, but Bill Simmons pointed out something that I never really thought much about. But all I can think about now. The scene where DeNiro is reading his book and a gorgeous Amy brennaman goes up to him and asks him about the book and he just simply growls that it's about "metals" and she seems actually more turned on by it rather than turned off by his rude gruff demeanor. God bless you, Hollywood.

By the way, amazing movie. If only I hadn't paid for it several times over already as a VCR tape, then a DVD , then a Blu-ray and the soundtrack on CD

One of my top 10 all time favorite movies. 4k is overkill for this, but for $8, you betcha. I used to own this on Laserdisc, LOL

"All I am is what I go after" - this movie is so deep, highly recommend reading Michael Mann's Heat 2 which came out last year, it's both a prequel and sequel to the characters in the film

FYI: Both HD and UHD discs have the remix audio track from the 2017 BD release, so no improvements if you were already unhappy with lack of bass punches. 4k version has actually darker PQ, as many reviews have complained about overly darker tones overall. If you already have this version, share your review.

Amazing movie. But if you don't need the physical disc/4k, it occasionally - rarely, but occasionally - goes on sale from Amazon Video for $5. INSTA-BUY with Amazon digital credit. The gun fight finale scene is arguably the best gun fight scene in cinema history.
