It seems like this game is heavy on micro-transactions.

Not buying til its sub 30. They updates are nice but they are still messing with in-game currency and microtransactions and shit. Dont want to have a miserable grind.

I've been playing Gran Turismo since the first one... and sunk, probably, hundreds of hours into GT3. I've spent, maybe, a dozen on this one. The game is GORGEOUS and you have the expected GT play... but the car selection is severely lacking. If I don't have the cars I want to drive... I just won't. I, sadly, even ended up buying a steering wheel for my XBox instead of PS because playing this game is just unfulfilling.

I also greatly dislike the "menu" style, and the fact that you cannot sell your cars.
You can sell your cars now. It was updated a while back.

Personally I'm a GT fan. I haven't put in any microtransaction money and have collected a large amount of the available vehicles.

The latest update added their AI driver Sophy.

Everyone complaining about microtransaction, which aren't even needed or required... Should look at iRacing... To have all the cars and tracks will cost like $2500. No joke.

I thought GT7 was the be-all-end-all in racing simulators. I was mistaken: https://iracing.com/
Iracing… incredibly realistic, and incredibly difficult. Talk about a game that you need to sink some serious money into for cars, tracks, etc. At least that's what I had to do years ago. It was just too difficult for me once you got into faster cars.

I've been playing since release and haven't spent any extra money. However, I only play the single player parts and it's kept me happy. There's been several updates that added more cars and events to keep it fresh. The game is great and looks incredible as well. Hope this helps you guys out.

Have there been any sales on a digital copy of this game recently? Interested in the 25th anniversary edition to go with the VR 2… $90 digital on PSN and $60 physical on PS Direct atm, would love to keep everything digital.

Both were on sale digitally during Christmas.

Question: I have a PS4. Plan on getting a PS5 but no time soon. I generally wait for the "slim" versions of the Playstation to drop before jumping into the newer console generation. All that said, I want this game. If I paid $10 extra for the PS5 version, would it work on the PS4?

Seems kinda stupid to pay $30 for the PS4 version.. and then in a year or two end up paying another $40 for the PS4 version of the same game.

According to the Gran Turismo 7 announcement FAQ on the official Sony website [playstation.com]:

You could buy GT7 Standard Edition for PS4 and then spend $10 to upgrade to the PS5's digital version of the game. However - the disc will be required to launch the game so *you will be forced to buy a Disc Edition PlayStation 5*. PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is not compatible with this $10 upgrade.

Honestly it's not too bad for me. Haven't spent a dime, Ive gotten many of the cars I wanted. There are a few races to grind and to be honest I still have fun doing it from time to time. You can also sell your used car now. I'm not even a racing fan but I enjoy playing it. The key is to get a steering wheel.
Which steering wheel did you get? I got one for the original xbox awhile ago for Forza, it had too many dead zones for it to really be fun/useful. I'm guessing the newer steering wheels with 900 degree turns are much better with no dead zones. I just got psvr2 and I just bought this, cannot wait to play in VR. They said you can play this game in VR with the steering wheel which sounds amazing, but I wonder how it would work since in VR, you cannot see your hands with it being on the steering wheel, wonder how that will work. I guess you just have to feel your way into the steering wheel.

Anyone try this combo yet? PSVR2 headset with a good steering wheel? How awesome/immersive is it?

Nice, getting PS4 version and stacking with PICKUP10OFF code with a locker delivery. $30 all in to have a physical copy and digital PS5 upgrade version as well.

They need to port GT7 to PC already
I would think that this is bound to happen. Aren't PS4/PS5 already running on x86 architecture?

BTW, Walmart had GT7 Launch Edition PS4/PS5 (gives you $$) for same the price in Nov or Dec 2022 time frame.

My problem with the gt franchise is that they cut off the online service very soon, too soon to be exact

Just pay $10 in the future to upgrade it to the PS5 version.
Ps, good luck waiting for the slim version lol. The next PS5 is going to be digital with an optional detachable disc drive sold separately or as a bundle.
