Dell refurbished is old. This i3 cpu is faster than those 8th gen i7 cpu. This has an empty slot that can add at least one 8g ram. I think you can add up to 32g.

You obviously don't know how fast these i3 12th gen processors are...they would smoke those old used/refurbished i7s without a sweat

I think this may be a winner depending on the weight. 12th generation I3 still has good horsepower, backlit keyboard, 512GB M.2 drive, second slot to add memory and unlock better graphics.

Essentially the same as Office Depot Lenovo from November/December, except with 512GB SSD upgrade, and no $20/25 Visa gift card promo.

12th gen i3 CPU very fast & efficient (bests recent-gen i7).

I returned mine solely because waiting for same specs/price but with IPS LCD.

My issue with the current Ideapad 3 is they have a space for a 2.5" drive in the chassis but lack a SATA port for drive connection! Sometimes I'll need to throw a drive in quickly and easy wasn't what I found when I picked up last month's Amazon deal on these.

Good luck with lenovo products. My parents took forever picking out the right one, only used it very VERY rarely (probably like 3 times during the warranty) and now it stopped working at best buy even told them they can't fix it. Like seriously how do you have a $1k+ laptop that is unfixable in a year of barely using it? Also, in the tracking it kept moving all through China. lol.

Unfortunately it's over for 2.5 everything is being upgraded to m.2 storage

I don't think so...the improvements for basic tasks that these laptops are best suited for would be minimal.
