Buyer beware, the cup is nice but the strainer came apart from the plastic at the bottom. Tried contacting Bodum and so far no reply for almost two weeks.

Echoing what people have said. They use cheap plastic components that break and will not honor their warranty since they don't even have telephone customer support anymore. Good luck getting anyone to respond to email either. Treat their product as disposable and you will be less disappointed

I've owned 2 for 4 years now, no issues and highly recommend for ppl who enjoy loose leaf tea. The cup itself is worth more.

I have one since the last time it was on sale for this price at Walmart. I like the way it works but to me it looks like the strainer is made of plastic. On amzn it doesn't say stainless steel (Bodum says 100% BPA Free). Someone also commented there it was plastic.

It would be nice if entire strainer was made from stainless steel. Soaking cheap plastic in super hot water is just not ideal. If they spent .50 cents more making it, the strainer could have been perfect and I'd pay $14 for it. LMAO

If anyone is looking for an electric kettle with multiple temp settings and with tea strainer in it, the new one Costco has in is great. It was on sale for $33, $7 off, but is back to $40. I'm not tea smob, but it's nice to be able to make 32-64oz of tea at a time.

I got one of these when WalMart had them on sale. The strainer is a bit tough to thoroughly clean; it's a deep well and the solid plastic parts are where smaller tea leaves tend to hide. But it also fits my coffee mugs perfectly, so I'm using it every day.
