FYI: the preset pressure is a great feature, and available on the sibling product from Ridgid, which goes on sale for ~$30 every now and again at DTO. It's also a "hybrid" model that comes with a 12v car cigarette lighter adapter, which means that you don't need to keep a battery with it at all when you're on the road. Best of both worlds. Here's the link to the (normal price) product page at HD:

If you're already (or only) in the Ryobi ecosystem, the Ryobi dual-inflator model is a step up from the one int he OP, and also offers the option to preset the desired pressure and simply click the "start" button. It also occasionally drops as low as mid $30s, and is much-loved by the SD crowd.

I've got both, and they're great. The press-on chuck of the Ridgid is really nice, whereas the thread-on chuck of the Ryobi is a bit of a hassle. (I just threaded on a quick release chuck; problem solved.) Having the set-and-forget target pressure is a feature that once you have, it's hard to do without!

I like this inflator but wish it had a lockout on the trigger. It's fairly easy to be activated while bouncing around in my trunk.
Pull the battery out.

Have you found a way of not turning the stupid thing on when you are bringing it out to the car? I manage to trigger it multiple times when bringing it out. laugh out loud
One of the 10 inflator safety rules (possibly the most important one) is: keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to inflate.

This isn't great. I have the inflator/deflator (square box type) and its awesome. This one is the watered down version.

Can you explain what quick release chuck you used on the ryobi dual inflator? I haven't opened mine yet. Why do we need to remove it ?

Looks like I'm not the only one who triggers this thing all the time. Nevertheless I'd have it in the car always. Saved me multiple times and a couple friends too.

Deal-wise this is so-so. The inflator was on sale by itself for $20 at one point. I'd pick up a couple and gift them to family/friends if I see them on sale again.

Sure thing - I use a JACO lightning self-locking chuck. Like this:

https://www.amazon.com/JACO-Light...B099SBMBJV

It's brilliant. You just push it straight on to the schraeder valve, and it locks on automatically. When done inflating, press the side button and it pops off, no air lost. Super fast and secure. Yes, it costs a few bucks, but it's a great tool, and thus super satisfying to use. After you use it, you'll never want to deal with threading a pump onto a valve stem again, and even those compression-lock levers seem ineffective by comparison.

(Side note: the above link is the standalone option. I actually built similar adapters for my pumps using the following two things:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZHM5W91 (two JACO chucks)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B6PFLVVX (Schroeder -> 1/4" adapters)

thanks a lot for the links. i havent opened my ryobi inflator. but i am used to my bicycle pumps simply being pushed onto the stem (then flip to lock). what is this threading business? the inflator needs to be threaded onto the tire ?
