1. Purchase a "Home Run Fan Membership" from the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association for $25 here:

You should get an email with the MLB.TV discount offering. If you don't see it look in your "Promotions" or Spam folder.
2. As long as you have purchased the "Home Run Fan Membership", you should be able to purchase the MLB.TV package for $74.99 ($79 after tax) by following the link you will get in the aforementioned email after you purchase the home run fan membership. This is half off the usual $150 price
Total: $25 (Home Run Fan Membership) and $74.99 (MLB.TV discount price) = $99.99. The normal price just for MLB.TV is $150, so you save $50.
I did this process myself and above worked fine.
