This is a great price for a quality brand like HH. In for one as I could always use an additional mid-layer for keeping me comfortable on pow days.

How does this brand compare to Marmot that goes on steep sales every 6 mo or so?

I like Marmot. There stuff is solid and I use a few of their mid and base layers. My wife and daughter both have Marmot ski jackets and they seem very good.

Personally, I feel like Helly Hansen is a rung above Marmot in terms of quality (both materials and construction) and more in line with Patagonia. Helly Hansen prices will reflect this as well.

My ski wardrobe is a mix of Helly Hansen, Patagonia, Smartwool, and Marmot. All are great for what their purpose is and I have no complaints with any of those brands.
